Testimony!

Dear Bro. Jed,
I believe it was you who preached at Michigan State University in 81 or perhaps 82.
I was not a believer of Christ at that time. But I will never forget when this young man spat in your face and you kept preaching the gospel. Powerful. God is Good.
I gave my life to Christ in 1988.  I just thought about you and wanted to encourage you.
I was called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1997 and was licensed to preach by Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan under the leader of Pastor Robert E. Starghill on February 1st, 1998. I was ordained on March 28th 2004 by Strictly Biblical Bible Teaching Ministries of Detroit, Michigan under the leadership of Senior Pastor Emory E. Moss, Jr., MDiv. Upon my ordination, I return to Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church of Detroit to serve as headservant of Christian Education.
I currently serve as Associate Minister of High Street Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia under the former leadership of Pastor David L. Chapman, MDiv.
I work full time for Virginia Tech.
   God bless you.

Your brother in Jesus Christ,

Lance R. Franklin, MSCE, Ph.D.

"AT LEAST BROTHER JED IS CONSISTENT"
June 3, 2013, Portland State University
Usually there is a lot of activity and amplified music on this campus.  However, today was quiet.  It took a while to get the students' attention.  Slowly some gathered under Mike Savenko's preaching.  Pastor Mike Wiley took two turns and held the students' attention.  Gradually, the audience became stirred.
Pastor Mike Wiley proclaiming the Gospel at PSU.
Hannah called me aside after my second turn to ask, "What do you mean by a naughty girl?"  I explained I mean a promiscuous girl.  She asked, "What about the promiscuous men?"  I answered, "They are also bad."  Hannah was a textbook feminist who was majoring in women's studies, which is nothing but propaganda for the feminist/socialist movement.  She wanted to give me a reading list of feminist literature.  I told her she needed to read the Bible.  We had a long conversation as I instructed her in proper Biblical roles for men and women.  I had a good time dialoguing with her.  She was somewhat amazed at herself for listening to us for four hours.   Michael Savenko had his longest stint of preaching during my lengthy conversation with Hannah.
Students stops to discuss the preaching with a brother from Pastor Wiley's church.
During my preaching sessions I made much out of the fact that actor Michael Douglas' physicians informed him that he got cancer as a result of oral sex.  This may awaken a few but most will continue in their perversion as even AIDS rarely stopped the gays from engaging in perversion.  One female wanted me to pray with her to be set free from lesbianism.   I did not perceive that she was sincere.  So a group of ten or so including some atheists gathered around me to join hands and pray.  I led them in The Lord's prayer.  An atheist said, "That is not a sinner's prayer."  I answered, "It most certainly is, 'Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.'"
Drunkeness is a major problem on college campuses!
A Christian asked if he could speak.  He started off well but then began to say he was not there to judge.  An atheist challenged him and said, "You are being inconsistent; you are judging us; at least Brother Jed is being consistent and talks about the bad concerning God as well as the good."  Of course, he considered God's judgment and wrath as being bad.  I appreciated the fact that he could see through the inconsistent teachings of most Christians and could perceive that my doctrines were consistent.
He said, "If I was to be a Christian I would prefer to be one like Brother Jed."
PSU students were very attentive as Pastor Mike shared the truth.
Pastor Mike his wife and others from his Church left campus by 3 PM.  Mike Savenko and I continued until almost 5:30.  We left with a group still talking to the inconsistent Christian.

JOINING WITH A PIONEER
June 4, 2013, Portland State University
I called Ray Chisholm this morning and he and his son joined Mike Salvenko and me on campus.  Ray reminisced concerning his days with Holy Hubert Lindsey.  Ray and Holy Hubert started preaching on the Portland State campus in 1964.  Holy Hubert wanted to go to UCLA, but Ray informed him that Berkeley was where everything was happening, so he and Ray went to Berkeley.  The rest is history.  Holy Hubert preached daily at Berkeley until 1972, when he began to branch out to other campuses.  I heard Holy Hubert when I was living in Berkeley in the late 60's.  His example was the primary influence leading me into my campus work.  Ray is now 77 and still looks fit and hearty.
Preacher Ray from Portland, along with Holy Hubert Lindsey, was one of the first to start open air campus preaching at Portland State in 1964.

There was a rock group playing over the noon hour.  At 1 PM and music stopped and Grant started preaching.  Grant has one of the strongest voices I have heard among open air preachers.  He has a humorous and direct style of delivery.  Regrettably, the students could not appreciate his humor.  A female shot out of the crowd and threw her drink all over Grant.  He was not fazed.  Ray mentioned to me that he could tell his son was influenced by Jim Webber.  Of course, Grant grew up around street preachers; he has heard the best and his Dad is among the best.  Ray said to the crowd, which the police estimated to be 100-150, "I want to apologize for all the non-judgmental, sissified, non-confrontational Christians, who refuse to preach against sin or warn you about Hell."
Bro. Grant, Preacher Ray's son has a humorous and direct style of delivery.
Ray and Grant left campus about 3 PM; Mike and I preached on to a lively crowd until 5:30.  Hannah, the feminist with whom I talked yesterday, brought out her "Christians feminist" friend.  She said, "I am not getting married and I am not going to have children."  I said, "Then you must remain a virgin."  She answered, "No."
In my final session I strongly defended free markets and labeled socialism as a sin.  Interestedly, one student read the parable of the Good Samaritan thinking it supported the welfare state.  However, I pointed out that this parable supports charity.  The Samaritan did not go to town and meet with the city fathers and advocate a social agency to take care of people who have been robbed and beaten.  The Samaritan saw a need and he personally took care of the need.  It is difficult for students to understand the difference between charity (voluntary giving) and the welfare state (forced redistribution of the wealth).  Another student claimed that Ananias and Sapphira were condemned for not sharing their possessions with the church.  I corrected him explaining that the two hypocrites were condemned for lying to the Holy Spirit.  They were not required to share the price of their sold land.  It is not wrong for men to live communally.
The wrong is in forcing others into the commune against their will.
Preacher Ray defending the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  As strong as ever at age 77!

RAPT ATTENTION
June 5, 2013, The Evergreen College
There are a lot of weirdoes on this campus, dread locks, piercings, tattoos, etc.  Most of them looked like potheads and many which interacted with me talked like potheads.  Soon after starting two female policemen approached me, one said, "You have the right to speak but we have had complaints.  Students at Evergreen are sensitive."  They said there was no problem as long I did not disrupt classes.
The police warned Bro. Jed that Evergreen students are sensitive.  This campus abounded with weirdos.
One girl danced around me.  Another female wanted me to dance with her.  Another wanted a hug.  A professing Christian, of whom there were few, told me, "No one is paying any attention to you.  You are offending everyone."  I answered, "If no is paying attention, how can I be offending anyone?"
Twelve-foot tall welcoming woman at Evergreen.
Within 30 minutes I had 8-10 students sitting on the grass at my feet so I sat on my chair to teach them the fear of the Lord.  They were civil and attentive.  I emphasized that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation.  I taught that good mental health requires that men be governed by conscience and reason.  Bad mental health is a result of the will being subject to the physical appetites and emotions.
When I have a small group like this, where I am able to teach and students are actually considering my argument is my favorite part of open-air preaching.  Contrary to the way my ministry is usually caricatured I am not always in confrontational mode.  More often than most realize, I am in apologetic mode with a rapt group.  I considered today to be profitable despite not having a large crowd.
Bro. Jed had a great teaching session today with Evergreen students.  There were some good listeners here.
I had the most interchange with Sophia from France, who confessed that she was a lesbian.  I am confident that had never encountered anyone like me in France.  Even the Christian, who earlier had vehemently opposed me, sat quietly and listened for almost an hour.  By 3 PM virtually everyone had left so I decided to drive on to Seattle.

COMMENCEMENT
June 6, 2013, University of Washington
I preached from Chapter 1 of the First Book of Moses, called Genesis.  There were about 20 students sitting around when I started, but I had little indication that anyone was paying any attention.  I had my eyes closed much of the time when I was expounding on the Creation.  I emphasized, "And God said," and the clause "and God saw that it was good."  I enjoyed the teaching very much and sensed the anointing of the Holy Spirit.  For forty minutes I took the students through the six days of creation up to the creation of man.  When God called the light "Day," I took the opportunity to expound upon D-Day, 69 years ago today.

Bro. Jed spent 40 minutes teaching on the six days of creation to a small group at UW.
I took a 30 minute break and started again on the making of man and the dignity of man.  Evolutionists have no appreciation of man's dignity; they put man just further along the evolutionary scale than apes.  Again I thoroughly enjoyed my teaching and considered it profound but students who remained sitting in the area had their backs to me.  Eventually, I took another break.
Bro. Jed expounding on the creation of man and human dignity.
I noticed posters around campus advertising Commencement exercises on June 15.  Since I had been speaking on beginnings, I considered it appropriate to speak on Commencement, which signifies the end of their journey to get a diploma and the beginning of entering the business and professional world.  I warned them that they have already put themselves at a considerable disadvantage by being in debt and pursuing majors (women's studies, social work, etc.) that have little value in and of themselves and have even smaller market value.  It seemed that a few were listening to my Commencement address.
About 2:30 Dan, the overbearing Christian, who when I was on campus a few weeks ago challenged me on my doctrine, wanted to have a talk with me on the doctrine of an inherited sin nature and Adam as the federal head of the human race.  He claims to be a strong Sola Scriptural person.  He does not believe that anyone canbe righteous or follow Jesus since all have sinned.  Jesus never sinned.  I claimed that Paul set himself as an example, "Follow me even as I follow Christ."  Dan is well studied in his doctrines and I would love to debate him with a moderator.  However, it was frustrating time, since he has such an imperious manner and haughty personality.  He was constantly interrupting.  He claimed anyone who does not believe in doctrine of original sin cannot be saved.
Bro. Jed gave a commencement address to students since many of them were graduating.
I was happy to excuse myself at 3:20 to preach at another class break.  However, once again I failed to draw an audience so I called it a day.  I was surprised that I did not get a crowd today since the weather was sunny and in the high 70's.  Perhaps the since finals start next week, students are actually studying and do not have time for the Bible preacher.

LAST DAY OF THE SCHOOL YEAR
June 7, 2013, University of Washington
I made a sign which read:
MICHALE DOUGLAS
ORAL CANCER
LINKED TO
ORAL SEX
There were junior high school aged students touring campus and sitting and eating lunch over the noon hour.  Therefore, I did not display the sign, thinking some of them might be too young for the subject.  Actually, they have probably mostly been exposed to the topic by now.  Some are likely even engaging in the perverted behavior.
Calvinist Dan insists that salvation is all of God.
I wore my red YOU DESERVE HELL shirt with JESUS SAVES written in white on the back.  I preached at the 1:20 break, but I did not gain much attention.  However, three football players came up and began questioning me.  One admitted he was fornicating with his so called girlfriend.  I warned him.  One claimed to be a Christian and the other a Mormon.  Meanwhile, Fred Lusk arrived.  He is a retired gentleman who joined me for a few days when I was on campus two weeks ago.
"Man must cooperate with God for salvation to occur!"
I noticed that Dan, who is the Christian that despises my doctrines, was studying his computer in the area.  I figured it was only a matter of time before the devil would stir him to action.  When I rose to preach at about 2:15, he jumped up to promote the doctrine of the inherited sin nature.  He described himself to Fred as a monergist, that is one who believes salvation is all of God.  I am a synergist; I believe that man cooperates with God in salvation.  Dan is very loud; he objected that I was holding my sign instead of preaching from an open Bible.  The Holy Ghost used Dan's rant against me to draw a crowd.

Guitar toting Taoist claims to have been to hell and back.
Meanwhile, Joseph, who claims to be a Taoist, also began to scream in my face, which drew even more people.  Joseph left to get his guitar and within 10 minutes he was back dancing around me and singing.  He claimed to have been to Hell and back.  I suppose about 30 gathered.   Mostly, I just shouted out the basics concerning the gospel.  It was quite hectic for over an hour.  I stood my ground. Dan demonstrated no concern for souls; his obsession is that my doctrine of grace is incompatible with his.
Joseph dances and sings around Bro. Jed.
"Bro. Jed, all Christians know who you are and are talking about you!"
About 3:40, I called upon Fred.  A Christian came up to converse with me; he said to me, "All the Christians know who you are and are talking about you."
I did not hold the sign too long since it did not get the comments and opposition which I expected.  And I certainly did not need more hostility.

   NEW SCHEDULE
Fall 2013
The following is my tentative schedule for the fall semester. It should be noted that this is a tentative schedule and subject to change. We have decided to spend more time commuting to the six campuses which are an easy drive from our new home in Terre Haute. We urge our friends to join us this fall. We have the room to house you during the time of outreach. Notice we have targeted Sept. 19 as an open house for ISU or neighboring campus students. We have used these open houses effectively at the University of Missouri. When we visit your area, we also challenge you to unite with us on campus. Notice I still have some Sundays open for speaking engagements in churches and I am always available for home fellowships as a teacher. We also appreciate offers of hospitality for Sister Pat, Sister Cindy and I when we are on the road. Bro. Jed
