SHOWING COMPASSION

Man dressed as a vagina interupts to promotes perversion.

The amphitheater is the place to preach on this campus; however, it was occupied by a group broadcasting loud music. I started on the street across from the amphitheater holding my YOU DESERVE HELL sign. Several came up and asked me, "Why?" One noteworthy girl, Zoe, was so disturbed by the sign that she went away crying; however, she soon returned with a handmade sign which read, WE DESERVE COMPASSION.
At 2 PM Sister Angela arrived. By now the music had stopped in the amphitheater so we moved. Angela was able to draw a crowd in the amphitheater by relating her testimony. When she turned the meeting over to me, I spoke to a relatively attentive and large crowd which gathered on the stairs. However, within an hour a perverted male dressed as a vagina speaking with a bullhorn interrupted me. I did not attempt to compete with the bullhorn. He rambled on and on with his twisted monologue promoting feminism and perversion.
 |
Bro. Jed tries to ignore the pervert and soon the students are chanting, "We want to hear Bro. Jed."
|
Several time he led students in cheers and chants supporting his socially destructive ideas and activities.
At one point someone asked, "What does Brother Jed have to say?" I answered, "Please do not misunderstand me. I am not here to put women down. I merely want to put them in their proper place." The vagina pervert wasn't going to shut up for me to be heard again with my stinging one-liners. Several groups had come out to give support to the vagina guy. Eventually, he asked for testimonies from gays who had come out of the closet. One lesbian testified and introduced the crowd to her
daughter.
By 5:30 I decided to leave. I was about a block away when I heard Zoe shouting, "Brother, Brother." She had been sitting or standing beside me for a couple of hours with her sign. Now she ran up to me with some conciliatory words, but stood her ground against my sign.
 |
Zoe, on the right, stood next to Bro. Jed with her "compassion" sign for a couple of hours.
|
She was very passionate. I rather liked the girl. I encourage her to read the Bible and that we would further discuss our differences tomorrow. Zoe will never forget her encounter with the preacher today.
What is more compassionate than to warn people about such a horrible place as Hell?

BACK TO NORMAL
May 30, 2013, University of Oregon
I started preaching in a light drizzle. A few students stopped to ask me questions mostly telling me that I was taking the wrong approach. The Director of Scheduling asked to have his picture taken with me.
He said, "My friends can't believe that 35 years after we heard you at Bowling Green State that you are still preaching."
 |
Students were much more attentive to the message today.
|
At 12:50, I asked Mikhail Savenko to preach. He gathered a few but he ended up carrying on a quiet conversation. By now Sister Angela had arrived so I directed her to preach. She managed to gather an audience that gradually increased in number. Thankfully, the sodomites were not out in force today. It was a relief to deal with somewhat normal people. So I was able to address other issues when I took my turn. When I gave the moral argument for the existence of God, the man, who questioned me, admitted that he could not refute it. This was encouraging since it rare for students to grant me any points publically. They sometimes will on the sidelines, but not usually in the presence of a hostile crowd.
 |
Meet Bro. Mikhail Savenko, a new preacher on the western front!
|
When Angela took her second turn, she testified how God had given her a new camera after having one destroyed by a lesbian yesterday. Interestingly, yesterday she had been looking at a blue cannon camera with a particular lens and that was exactly the camera the Lord provided. She testified that the giver would have had no knowledge that this particular camera was the desire of her heart. This was important to Angela since she is big for taking pictures and videoing. She left for California late in the afternoon. We will meet later somewhere on the gospel road.

|
Just after Michael began his second turn the gay leader, who had dressed Tuesday in a vagina costume, ordered everyone to leave. He said, "We are empowering Brother Jed and team by standing and listening." Students usually feel obligated to obey and believe anything that a homosexual says. So the crowd broke up. Years ago it used to be that the crowd would suddenly get attentive and quiet and respectful towards any black person who spoke. Now it is the homosexual that all must listen to, since he in the new persecuted minority. Homos are always comparing their struggle to the civil rights struggle.
 |
The pervert who wore the vagina costume the first day, arrived and broke up the crowd. Bro. Jed gathered a new group in the amphitheater.
|
I decided to take the opportunity to move back down into the amphitheater since the loud music had stopped by this time. I soon gathered a new crowd in the amphitheater which is a superior place to preach for the acoustics and also for crowd control. Students usually behave better when they are sitting instead of standing. We preached until almost 6 PM. Mikhail, whose family emigrated to American from the Russia about 15 years ago, related his testimony how after living the party life he was converted at 18. He also expressed his thankfulness to preach freely in public, which he indicated would not have been possible in the country of his birth.
Later Mikhail posted on facebook, "This was one of the best and most productive days of my life, thanks Jed."

GOD'S DIFFICULTIES
May 31, 2013, University of Oregon,
Once again the amphitheater was occupied by those broadcasting loud music. I had good interaction with several students who sat at my feet while I taught from my chair for three hours. I only actually stood up to preach at the breaks.
 |
Mikhail is humble and interacts well with the students...very promising young man.

Gavin is a long-haired fellow, who usually spends a considerable amount of time in my audience and typically has a lot of questions and comments. He claimed the other day that he thinks that Satan is better than God.
Today, I spent time teaching him of the difficulties God has in governing a rebellious race of men. Satan was the instigator of this rebellion. Most men, like Satan, expect God to govern by sheer power and stop the things they do not like. However, they expect God to allow them to continue in their own evil deeds. God's power is limited by his moral law and his loving character. So men take advantage of his patience and longsuffering; yet, they criticize him when he does not intervene in the affairs of men whenever they think he should.
The problem with sinners is that they think they can govern more effectively than God. Sinners see the world through their eyes which are extremely near sighted. It is no easy job to be the ruler over such a defiant race. It even seems that his people, who should be assisting him, are often of little help and even exacerbate the problems. Men expect God to be a tyrant or dictator that is a law unto himself. But the beauty of the Trinity is that he subjects himself to the same law of love that is supposed to govern men.
 |
Bro. Jed spent a lot of time today explaining the difficulties that God has in governing the race of men that He has created.
|
At 3 PM the music stopped so Mikhail and I moved into the amphitheater. I had a very good teaching session for an hour continuing on the theme which I addressed in the above paragraph and also contrasting the Biblical world view with the blindness of modern psychology, sociology and political science, which is dominated by socialists.
At 4 PM three acapela groups occupied the amphitheater for almost an hour. I was presently surprised that their songs were mostly decent and that the students could appreciate music that was not rap, hip hop, hard rock or whatever has been passing for the music which has been blasting from the amphitheater this week. The third group made up of girls was on the edge as several of them were immodestly dressed and some of the lyrics questionable but all and all for a college show it was relatively clean.
When the program was over, I took center stage and was able to build another crowd which I turned over to Mikhail. I am impressed with Mikhail's humility and sound theology and ability to interact with the students considering he is young and inexperienced in open-air preaching. Should he keep with it, he will make an outstanding apologist and preacher. I left the crowd in Mikhail's hands for about 45 minutes. At 5:45, I departed for the two hour drive back to my host's home.

Saints,
Below you will find Bro. Jed's Fall 2013 schedule. Check it out and start praying.
Also, this summer we are working on fundraising for the new school year so pray about how you might want to contribute to our Campus Mission: 2013-2014.
In the meantime, enjoy the Week 19 journal and watch for the last two spring journals coming soon.
Thanks, Sis. Cindy
The following is my tentative schedule for the fall semester. It should be noted that this is a tentative schedule and subject to change. We have decided to spend more time commuting to the six campuses which are an easy drive from our new home in Terre Haute. We urge our friends to join us this fall. We have the room to house you during the time of outreach. Notice we have targeted Sept. 19 as an open house for ISU or neighboring campus students. We have used these open houses effectively at the University of Missouri. When we visit your area, we also challenge you to unite with us on campus. Notice I still have some Sundays open for speaking engagements in churches and I am always available for home fellowships as a teacher. We also appreciate offers of hospitality for Sister Pat, Sister Cindy and I when we are on the road. Bro. Jed
