Action Ministries Women'saction Community Kitchen Praise
Nine people from Norcross First served at Fort St. UMC on Boulevard as part of the Action Ministries' Women's Kitchen - new clients, same extraordinary needs, same great blessings!

We served 40 women and children; several walked off the streets, some from low-income housing in the neighborhood. Some had not eaten in two days; several left eating the only meal of the day... We had an amazing mission moment - humbling!

Want to join us next time? Our next date to provide lunch and serve is Thursday, July 14. Email Carey Logan: loganinski@gmail.com

Each season we join with Action Ministries and Grace UMC to provide fellowship and a warm and tasty lunch to women and children in the process of overcoming homelessness, hunger, and poverty. You are invited to join us for this wonderful outreach ministry at Grace UMC.

Celebrating
145 Years

On April 26, 1871,
Rev. Dr. Jesse Boring and a group of supporters signed the charter to form the Methodist Orphans' Home to care for children orphaned by the Civil War.

Thanks to generous supporters like you, we have helped countless children and families heal in the decades since Dr. Boring's vision was made a reality.  This year we will be sharing stories of success as well as our vision for the future.
We invite you to celebrate the past and join us as we strive for the day when every child is raised in a loving, compassionate, and nurturing home.Read more about our history here ...

Meet a few of the families who have opened their hearts and homes to children in need in our new Faces of Foster Care video. Watch it now.

NIGHTLIGHT ATLANTA KIDS CLUB
 Thursdays | 5:30-8PM
Our Prevention Program serves an Atlanta neighborhood facing high levels of addiction and drug abuse, generational poverty, frequent gunfire, prostitution and under-performing schools. Our children personally encounter bullying, violence, arson, racism, poverty and incarcerated family members. Kids' Club is a safe place to honor and affirm their identities and dreams as unique individuals. Through games, storytelling, art, prayer for each other and worship, we guide young people to know the Truth of who they are, empowering them to grow into influential women and men who live to their full potential. This season's theme, Kingdom Superheroes, tells about the lives, character and obstacles of some real-life superheroes who have gone before us, challenging the kids to access their own superhero and superpowers within. NightLight believes these children and teens are powerful leaders who can affect the change they want to see in their neighborhoods and in our world. Click for more...

Greetings from Namibia!

We are thankful for YOU! We went on a bus with 65 children to the coast and back and we know you were praying for all of us! We are blessed and we know the children had an experience of a life time. We came back dirty and exhausted but more importantly, BLESSED!!!

We saw the ocean, the aquarium, the museum, the cheetah foundation, hiked the big rock mountain where we could see Namibia, hiked the big sand dune 7, went swimming in freezing water, camped and cooked and much more. We know God was in charge since there were no problems and no breakdowns and even if we got home at 4am, we were safe. Just a few fevers and coughs but nothing serious to slow anyone down. WOW!!!!!!

We were even able to take a few staff members children and a village child who would not be able to go because of finances but we had a bit of space so they were invited and really enjoyed everything! Thank you for your prayers. God took care of us, even us old people as we did everything the young ones did including sand dune 7, the big hike and holding the real, yes, real python.
We just finished laundry and repacking as we prepare to come to Florida for the Orphan Summit. We are just going and coming back so again we will be tired but blessed with knowledge and information.

To God be the Glory Great thing He has done. So loved He the world that He gave us His Son!

UMVIM and the Zika Virus
As the Zika Virus continues to spread across the Central and South America and the Caribbean - a part of the world where many UMVIM teams serve - we have partnered with the Center for Disease Control to educate teams who are traveling to Zika-affected areas.

The CDC has provided us with information that is now available to you directly through our website, though full information can be found on the CDC Zika Webpage. Please take the time to read the information on these pages thoroughly and share with your team members.

REGISTRATION OPEN THROUGH MAY 15, 2016!

Young People in Mission,  a camp experience with hands-on mission opportunities for youth and young adults, will be held June 26-30, 2016 at beautiful Lake Junaluska. Our hope is that this event serves as a launch to empower young people to serve with new eyes and a heart for Christ. Participants serve with local mission projects, worship together, fellowship and grow with family groups, dive into Bible studies, and learn from featured speakers and the City of Opportunity.

Registration is now open on the UMVIM, SEJ website!
All costs except transportation are covered in the $326 registration fee (3 persons to a room; other pricing packages are available). Please contact UMVIM, SEJ or visit the YPIM page on our website for more information.
