"Research: Technology Is Only Making Social Skills More Important"
Did you get into a tech career because you don't like to deal with people? Research is showing that technology is increasing the importance of social skills. In fact, to keep automation or a robot from taking your job, having the ability to work with others is the best defense. David Deming of the Harvard Graduate School of Education says wage growth is strongest in occupations that require both high cognitive and social skills. These conclusions come from multiple sources and Deming says it's because computers are not good at social interaction.
