Using Technology for Good
What good is technology if we don't put it to good use? There are social organizations such as RLabs and HopeLab that are "using tech to break scale barriers". Read about six ways that information technology is breaking barriers and how The Bridgespan Group and Omidyar Network will share info about what's happening in this area of using tech to break barriers to social change.

"30 tech skills that will get you a
$100,000-plus salary"
It's not all about money, but we're curious to see the ever-changing list of "hot" technical skills. In fall 2014, Dice.com surveyed over 23,000 IT professionals and recently published their results. Experienced folks know you need more than technical skills. Work experience, ability to work collaboratively, and many other factors contribute to your ability to be hired and command a salary that reflects your value.

Most of you have taken a certification exam with a goal of passing. We recently trained a Cisco instructor who attended our Cisco Academy CCNP Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks course. Near the end of training, he took the TSHOOT certification exam and scored a perfect 1000 out of 1000 points. This individual is Steve Harris and you can read about him in a PCATT blog article written by Wayne Lewis. We invite you to take your CCNP training and certification at PCATT.

"Anatomy of a Hack - A step-by-step account of an overnight digital heist"
We always talk about security in the PCATT eZine so here we go. This is a true story of a tech savvy person who got hacked. How did it happen? What would you have done differently? There are more questions than answers. In this case, it came down to balancing convenience and security. Writer Russell Brandom concludes: "In the fight between security and convenience, security is simply outgunned."

Computerphobia
In the early 1980s, fear and resistance to using a personal computer was so rampant it earned its own name, "computerphobia". One recommendation for treating computerphobia was to think of it as the same experience as using an electrical appliance such as a toaster. We've certainly come a long way with the offerings of PCATT courses starting in April. We hope you'll be able to join us in training. We'll put your fear and anxieties to rest with a quality training experience.

Dalziel and Pow is a London-based retail design agency with a focus on customer-brand interaction. An example of their work at the Retail Design Expo shows off their talent. Watch the expressions of people as they interact with the exhibit created with screen-printed illustrations using conductive ink. Touches on Ototo boards send MIDI inputs to turn on music and lights.
