Greetings!

What contributes most to job satisfaction for you? Is it money? According to a survey conducted by Information Week, IT staffers want more than salary. They want to be heard, to have challenging work that matters, and they want to work for people who they like and respect. According to Jonathan Feldman, if you really cared only about money, there's another job for you that would increase your salary by 50%. For me, the opportunity to learn new things to keep updated in my field also contributes to my job satisfaction. Hope you'll take advantage of PCATT training and events if you love to learn like we do.

All the best,

As you probably know, Mary Meeker, partner in Silicon Valley venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers, is famously known for her regular reports on Internet trends. Her most recent presentation was given at the D11 conference on May 29, 2013. You can see her slides (all 117 of them) and perhaps pick up a start-up idea or find strategic direction for your planning. It's a "must review" report for folks in technology.

State of the Web 2013

Kevin Hughes
We have our own expert in Hawaii, Kevin Hughes, and he gave a very engaging and interesting presentation at the PCATT IT Summit about the State of the Web. The Internet is such a big part of our lives today it's hard to imagine life without it -- and the Internet has been in existence for just 10 years. Kevin has given us permission to share his slides if you would like to view them on our PCATT blog.

Mario Mediati, Special Projects Manager, has been volunteering as a Science and Engineering Fair judge for 16 years. He finds it to be a rewarding experience and he is energized by the projects he sees and the students he meets. Science and Engineering Fairs are very different from what you might remember from your middle and high school days. Here is an inside look by PCATT Guest Writer, Mario, describing his experience as a Science Fair judge.

vSphere Web Client vs vSphere Client

Here's a good tech tip for VMware users. If you want to learn more, VMware vSphere: Install,Configure, Manage [v5.1] starts on June 19. You will use both the Web client and the C# client in our course which has an in-house training environment managed by our VMware certified instructor. Upon successful completion, you will be eligible to take the VCP certification. It's a good idea to register soon to assure your seat in this course.

Why get an MCITP?

The Microsoft Certified IT Professional and other certifications show that you studied to learn or have experience mastering a specific set of skills. Certifications also demonstrate you have taken the time to sit for difficult exams and passed at the designated level. Here's what Microsoft says about the benefits of their certifications. If you're interested, PCATT has an MCITP course starting on June 25 which takes a comprehensive, integrative approach. Please register on or before June 10 so we can order your books.

Summer Fun

PCATT Summer There's not much change in the weather when summer arrives in Hawaii but we experience it in different ways. There are summer fruits like mangoes and lychee, longer days, and less traffic going to work. We invite you take advantage of training opportunities from PCATT to make your summer fun and productive.
