Peter Sondergaard, Gartner, Says Big Data Creates Big Jobs
|
Greetings!
The big news last week came from the Gartner Symposium and ITxpo held in Orlando. Peter Sondergaard, Senior Vice President and Global head of Research at Gartner made 3 important points.
- "By 2015, 4.4 million IT jobs globally will be created to support big data, generating 1.9 million jobs in the United States" and we won't have enough skilled professionals to fill these jobs.
- "This is a time of accelerating change, where your current IT architecture will be rendered obsolete."
- "He said the IT industry is entering the Nexus of Forces, which includes a confluence and integration of cloud, social collaboration, mobile and information."
Give serious thought to the impact of these statements on not just the technology industry but on our lives. At PCATT, we are doing the same. Read the Gartner Press Release and view the clips for yourself.

If you've been getting sick and can't figure out why, maybe it's your phone. "When you combine a cellphone's proximity to your ears, nose and mouth with its bacteria-loving warmth, the result can be harmful to your health." Read this to find out why and explore prevention methods. The Center for Disease Control says the flu season usually peaks in January and February in the US and can begin as early as October, so now is the time to take precautions.
