Mississauga Board of Trade Hosted "Politically Speaking Breakfast" with Tim Hudak, Leader - Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario

Mississauga, Ontario (June 6, 2014) - Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT) hosted Tim Hudak, Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, on June 6, 2014 for a breakfast address at Lakeshore Convention Centre in Mississauga.
Over 120 guests were in attendance, including business leaders, political candidates and residents from West GTA. This event provided a great opportunity for business and leaders in the region to hear the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario's election platform and policy priorities, followed by a Q & A session in which Mr. Hudak took questions from the audience.
Mr. Hudak placed a strong emphasis in his remarks on job creation in Ontario. Other key highlights included:
- Winding down the College of Trades
- Focus on reducing not increasing taxes
- Reduce cost and size of government, including 2 year freeze on public sector wages
- Freezing Government hiring for non-essential positions
- Reducing waste in health care management and administration and reallocating to front line and patient care services
- Addressing transportation and public transit. Improving GO Transit systems by extending rush hour timings to fit work schedules, and adding more frequent rides
MBOT 2014 Chair, Paul Woolford emphasized that it is important for our local business community to be engaged in the elections and the issues of interest to them as business and residents, and to be sure to vote on June 12.
