February Birthstone Amethyst
Amethyst, the gemstone believed by ancient Greeks and Romans to ward off the intoxicating powers of Bacchus, also is said to keep the wearer clear-headed and quick-witted.
Throughout history, the gemstone has been associated with many myths, legends, religions, and numerous cultures. English regalia were even decorated with amethysts during the Middle Ages to symbolize royalty.
Amethyst is purple quartz, a beautiful blend of violet and red that can found in every corner of the earth.
We have a nice selection like our amethyst soap which comes with a wood soap dish.
Or a necklace with oxidized sterling silver, amethyst, blue topaz, peridot, garnet and citrine natural stones by Anna Balkan.
On the left a beautiful amethyst colored vase by Loretta Eby.
We've got lots more amethyst pieces to choose from, stop by and check them out!.

Just In!
Looking forward to spring we've been getting lots of new work in!
Slab server cut from field stoneIn the Northern US the freeze-thaw cycle pushes field stone perpetually upward into the topsoil. What was once relegated to a stone wall bordering a field is now gathered and made into table ware. Each Slab starts as a hand-gathered stone from a farmer's field that is sliced, polish and sealed to craft the very first farm-to-table serving plate. Feel good knowing your purchase celebrates and supports independent farmers and helps preserve open space. Fred Conlon makes garden sculptures out of recovered objects. For his helmet sculptures, he uses real recovered World War II helmets. "It is very satisfying to transform something once used in war into a peaceful garden decoration," he says. Guaranteed to rust, his sculptures get more interesting with age. New Copper Enamel tiles from Houston Llew Hand crafted art collectibles of molten glass on copper, 5.25" x 8.5 x 1.75", 3lbs., wall hang or stand alone. The have luminous imagery and timeless quotes. New from Thomas and Laurel Love is patient Love is Kind, sterling silver pendants, first created in wax then cast. |
