Carolina Creations at Christmas
Quick Links

We moved here the first of June in 1989 so missed all the dogwoods, azaelas, wisteria and other spring flowers. We were stunned the next year when April came.

We've lived a lot of beautiful places but have never seen anything like New Bern in the spring. In fact it's what caused Jan to add color to her art after working in black and white for 20 years.

Twins - Intuitions - Art by Jane and Nancy Horner

Continues through April 30

Paintings, Collage and Silkscreen by Jane.

Fiber art by Nancy.

Identical twins, both artists, working in totally different mediums.

Art to Wear

Beautiful one seam ponchos, hand sewn, hand dyed, and can be worn 10+ different ways. No two ever alike, washable, signed and dated. Lorie was on the Today Show not long ago with her poncho! Each piece comes with a CD demonstrating all the ways it can be worn. Her fabrics are stunning.

Cute reversible bags
- many styles to choose from, made from eco-friendly fabrics. The fabrics are limited
edition so in a few months these fabrics will be history!

Hand dyed, hand printed chiffon scarves, are a great fashion accessory and light enough to be worn year-round. Dina received a degree in textile design in the early 80s but went on to become an architect. Only recently has she returned to her first love - fibers. Her designs are fresh and contemporary and make a beautiful gift!

Home Tour Art, Tiles
and Reception!!

Each Year our resident artist Jan Francoeur creates the Artwork for the Spring Home and Garden Tour, as well as a tile of each of the homes on the tour.

This year she will also be painting in the garden at 520 Craven Street from 10:30-3:30 on Friday, April 12.

That afternoon from 4-7 there will be a reception with refreshments at Carolina Creations for all of you and all Home Tour ticket holders.

We hope you'll come to the tour and our late afternoon reception!
New Work
Yardbirds Studio is always coming up with new creatures but this time they have really outdone themselves. Made from engine parts these new fish are outstanding! For more details or to purchase click here.

Years ago we were given kitties by Kimberly that reminded us of our Pepper and Lucy. A playful, colorful depiction of our favorite pets, these small sculptures are hand crafted from porcelain. And like our pets, each one is one-of-a-kind. A sweet gift at $19.

A new flock of birds have arrived from Francis Metalworks! Tagging along with them are some really cute turtles and roosters. Made from powder-coated steel and field stone, these sculptures will be a great addition to your garden.

Don Drumm and his daughter Leandra Drumm have new work as well. From Don we have casseroles and Leandra switchplates, nightlights and photo frames. Later this year their daughter/sister Elisa will be joining our collection with her wood creations. What a talented family, we have been honored to be friends with them for many years.

Cute sculptures made in NC from gourds, guitar strings, and bottle caps (one of Justine's mermaids snuck in this photo).

Mothers Day is Sunday, May 12!!

New Jewelry

Fused glass jewelry by Frank Tuuri, made in NC. Frank has been handcrafting his glass jewelry for over 30 years.

New Collection by Michal Golan, made in NYC

Jewelry designer and ceramicist Michal Golan's jewelry is inspired by the elaborate designs of Byzantine, Victorian, and Middle Eastern jewelry and decorative art.  Michal uses richly hued semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystals, and freshwater pearls in her work. The result - combined classic, timeless style with a fresh, contemporary look. Michal was born in Israel and immigrated to the US in1976. She attended the University of Maryland, earning a BA in graphic art.

Twisted Sister

Linda's jewelry sculptures are kinetic, have texture, color - creative recycling at its best.
She uses metals, wood, glass and found treasures to create her unique and whimsical pieces.

Harpstone Jewelry - Frank Lloyd inspired jewelry.

Designers Mary Kahmann and her daughter Gabrielle Angelique create jewelry that is linear, colorful, and contemporary in design.

Being Harpists and Jewelers, they design work that is fluid and clean, colorful and playful, with a hint of sparkle. They have found inspiration in everything from music & nature, to inspiring architecture. One of their largest influences is famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright and his views on space and ornamentation especially when concerning the place of design in art, life, and philosophy.
