Greetings!

Happy Valentine's Day!  We hope you are surrounded by those you love, and who love you!  We especially hope you know of the incredible love our Father in heaven has for each one of us... a love with no barriers, limits, or walls.  As we celebrate a day of "love," we are thankful and amazed at the love of God.

We have had an incredible week here at First United Methodist Church!  Wesley Putnam, The Master's Storyteller, led us in worship and teaching for four nights this week.  The time together was life changing and inspirational, and we are thankful for the ministry of Wesley and his wife, Felicia.

We hope you'll join us in worship on Sunday for our worship together.  We'd love to see you, and you'll be glad you came.

Please read below for more information about what's going on this week...  highlights:

*The Park Place Men's Choir will be leading our worship at the 9:00 AM Traditional Service.

Joyful Noise!
Real Life Children's Time @ FUMC Harlingen

"Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it." Proverbs 22:6

Some folks might think that our time with the children on Sunday mornings from 10:00-10:50 is all about learning a musical to perform for our friends and family.  Well, those folks would be mistaken!

Our goals are the following:
Share God's Word!
Worship the Lord!
Ask questions about our relationship and walk with God!
To realize that whatever we do, it should be our best for Jesus!
Hey, if we have lots of fun, learn some songs, and happen to pull off a presentation that shares all that we have learned along the way, then even better!!  The 'fruit' of our time together is a closer relationship to God and to each other!!

We meet every Sunday in the meeting room of the Raimond Christian Center, and there is a class for the parents to participate in at the same time in the Fellowship Hall.
We would love to have your child(ren), K-5th grades, join us!

Men's Walk To Emmaus
May 1-4, 2014

There will be a Men's Walk to Emmaus in Weslaco (at the old Camp Thicket) on May 1-4, 2014.  This is a four day spiritual experience intended to bring you closer to Christ and develop Christian leadership.  We have several from our church who will be in leadership at the Walk, and it is a fantastic opportunity for you to grow spiritually.  If you are interested in attending, please contact David (or someone else who has been on a Walk before) so we can get you registered.
Pastor's Bible Study Begins February 20, 2014

Women's Bible Study - Beth Moore's
Here and Now... There and Then

As a follow up to the study of John's life that we just completed, the ladies' Bible study will now study Revelations.   Please join us for an 11 week ladies' Bible study.   "Here and Now...There and Then by Beth Moore is a lecture series on the book of Revelation. Beth presents many points of view, allowing women to decide for themselves when the interpretation varies among scholars. She teaches that God is as specific about what He does reveal as He is about what He does not reveal. Each of the 11 sessions is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes...with light (one day) homework."
