Greetings!

The first month of 2014 has already come to an end... man, time flies doesn't it?  As we enter February we want to make sure that you are informed of several important things going on a First UMC.  We've got studies starting up, an visiting evangelist, Valentine's Day dinner, and a new sermon series.

This month, our sermon series is: Anyone and Everyone: Who Is Really Welcome in church?  We are going to be talking about the all encompassing love of God and how we can be the best ambassadors of that kind of love.

This Sunday, there is also a "Souper" Bowl Party for our youth... join them as they watch the Denver Broncos win!!! (You know I had to get a reference in about that).  Go Broncos!

We hope to see you soon, be sure to read below so you are informed about what is going on.

Yours in Christ,

David

February 9-12, 2014

Come hear the Master's Storyteller as he presents a unique blend of story and song. If Elijah, a prophet from the Old Testament, appeared today, what would he look and sound like? Through the imagination of Wesley Putnam, "the Master's storyteller," you might meet Elijah as a Bronx cop, or see Daniel from the lion's den as a West Texas cowboy. These and other stories bring ancient charac- ters to life and convey truth in a fresh, relevant way for our genera- tion.

There will be refreshing times of praise and worship, as Wesley and his wife Felicia bring an exciting blend of old and new songs to help people express their love for God.

This time of renewal is for kids too. You will be amazed at how much they learn in a short time. You won't want to miss a single night!

Women's Bible Study - Beth Moore's
Here and Now... There and Then

As a follow up to the study of John's life that we just completed, the ladies' Bible study will now study Revelations.   Please join us for an 11 week ladies' Bible study.   "Here and Now...There and Then by Beth Moore is a lecture series on the book of Revelation. Beth presents many points of view, allowing women to decide for themselves when the interpretation varies among scholars. She teaches that God is as specific about what He does reveal as He is about what He does not reveal. Each of the 11 sessions is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes...with light (one day) homework."
