Greetings!

November is already here!  Thus begins a month with numerous activities, mission opportunities, and special family times.  We are excited for all that lies ahead for us.

As we kick off the beginning of this month, remember... Daylight Savings Time ends Saturday night... we will be "falling back" one hour.  We hope to see you in worship all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed!

Please read below for information and news on what's coming up at the church.

Yours in Christ,

David

Trunk Or Treat

What a great night!  Many thanks to all who joined us last night to provide a safe, fun, alternative place for "trick-or-treating!"  We had many more participants from our church handing out treats, and we had a huge number of families that came down and joined us!

It was an easy and fun way to share a little love with our community.  Thanks again for your help and participation... we continue to make a difference in the world around us.

Joyful Noise Children's Choir
The Great Christmas Giveaway Musical

Dear Parents:

**First of all, WE ARE SINGING IN CHURCH THIS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD!!  Depending on how our practice at 10:00 goes, we will either sing 'Shop til you Drop' OR 'It's Better to Give Than Receive".  Please, please, please have your children sing along with the CD as much as possible!  Our time on Sundays together is short, and it helps so much when the children know the words from listenting to their CDs.  Then, on Sundays we can focus on the life lessons and motions that go with the songs.

Secondly, please mark your calendars with the following dates:
November 3-10:00 practice, sing in the 11:00 service
November 10-10:00 practice
November 17-10:00 practice, 12:30-2:30 or so pizza practice after church
November 24-10:00 practice, sing in the 11:00 service
December 1-10:00 practice
December 8-10:00 practice, 12:30-2:30 or so pizza practice after church
December 14-Dress Rehearsal, time to be announced
December 15-Present Musical in the 11:00 service in the RCC building

Lastly, thanks again for letting us work with your children!

Costa Rica Report at our CONNECT Service

Our Associate Pastor, Jet Throckmorton just returned from scouting out mission opportunities for our church in Costa Rica.  He will be making a presentation on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall (as a part of our Connect Service).  Please join us to hear about the opportunities we have coming up.  Jet also brought back some Costa Rican coffee he will have available.

First UMC Service Interest Inventory

Over the last few weeks we have been talking about the fullness of the Christian life through Jesus Christ.  We have focused on three basic areas:
Worship - Service - Study.  These are the "Keys to A Winning Season" for us.

We are providing you with a way to get involved in service inside and outside the church.  In church this Sunday, we will be giving out a Service Interest inventory.

If you would like to download that form you may:
FIRST UMC SERVICE SHEET

Once you've filled it out, you can mail it to the church, or drop it off on a Sunday that you are there.

College Care Packages

It is that time of year again... as our college students are preparing for the end of another semester and preparing for finals we want to send them a reminder that we are thinking of them and supporting them.  We send our students a note of encouragement and gift cards for them to use.  If you would like to donate to help with this, please designate your gift to: College Care Package.

Also, please confirm the mailing address of your college student (we know kids tend to move or switch rooms) or add a new name to the list to Linda Broyles at [email protected] no later than November 22, 2013.  Even if your child has not moved, please confirm address to Linda.
