The World Did Not End Yesterday

With December 21st next week, I thought I had better distribute this issue now. I mean, if you believe the Mayan calendar the world is to end on December 21, 2012. Well, we can all rest easy now as NASA as released a video titled, "Why the World Didn't End Yesterday." | ScienceCasts: Why the World Didn't End Yesterday |
So, with this conclusion I want to say thanks for staying with us during 2012 and we will see you back here in 2013 with more news and information that you can use with regards to public relations and marketing. But, one last question: If the world was to end what would you do? I would be interested in your responses now that I will be here to read them!

Advantages of Advertising in Community Newspapers
A Variety of Benefits Exist
Community newspapers are publications that typically provide local news and information on a weekly basis. Many are free while other publications have a small subscription rate or a single copy price. They may arrive at your home via postal mail, newspaper carrier or be available on racks at businesses. In my experience, community papers offer a variety of benefits for advertisers, especially for small businesses that have or wish to establish a strong presence in the local community. Here are 5 great reasons: 1. Reach: Community newspapers allow you to reach a vast number of potential customers. According to the Association of Free Community Newspapers (AFCN), the total circulation of community newspapers in the U.S. has reached more than 100 million as of 2010. This means that roughly one in three Americans receives a community paper, more than twice the amount of all paid newspapers combined. 2. Growth: Daily newspapers have seen their circulation drop drastically over the past several years, as younger people have turned to the internet and television for news and information. In contrast, the community newspaper industry with publication dates from weekly, monthly to quarterly continues to grow. Did I say, FREE? The AFCN reports that free community newspapers are a $4 billion business as of 2010. 3. Target Marketing: The different types of community papers allow you to target specific market segments. For example, an alternative newspaper may specialize in news stories about the environment, so if you are selling a "green" product, you'll be able to reach readers who may have a strong interest. If you operate a bar or eatery, an entertainment weekly paper could make for a good advertising choice. Read more.

Key Research YOU Need to Know!We take the time to find information that will support your business and/or non-profit.
Military service is difficult, demanding and dangerous. But returning to civilian life also poses challenges for the men and women who have served in the armed forces, according to a recent Pew Research Center survey of 1,853 veterans. More than seven-in-ten veterans report having had an easy time readjusting to civilian life, but nearly a quarter say re-entry was difficult for them -- a figure that swells to 44% among veterans who served in the ten years since Sept. 11, 2001.
