The Doctors and Staff at Children's Dentistry Group would like to wish all of your families a happy and safe new year!

As winter approaches, we would like to wish everyone and your families a very Happy Holiday season and a New Year filled with prosperity and success!

Taking a moment to reflect on this past year, we'd like to say thank you to all of our patients and their families.  The confidence you show in our practice by referring friends and families children is enormously appreciated.

        New Faces, New Spaces

We have been making some changes here at Children's Dentistry Group!  From our staff members, to our reception area and aquatic team, there are a lot of new faces and sites to see!

While still offering excellent patient care, the new environment brings excitement and comfort to patients and parents alike!

Welcome Dr. Sarah A. Mahmoud

Speaking of new faces, we would like to proudly introduce you to Dr. Sarah A. Mahmoud, D.M.D.

Dr. Mahmoud earned her dental degree from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2006.  She completed a one year in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine and University Hospitals of Cleveland in 2007 and a two year postdoctoral residency program in Pediatric Dentistry from Miami Children's Hospital in 2012.  She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and belongs to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Illinois State Pediatric Dental Society.
Since graduating, she has been enjoying private practice.  She finds treating children's dental needs in a relaxed atmosphere, providing a positive experience and educating children and their parents about proper oral hygiene and good habits (especially flossing every day) very rewarding.  She enjoys spending free time with her husband and son, traveling and experiencing different cultures.  She also loves to paint.

          Continuing Tradition

We are continuing our tradition of staying involved in the community.  February is Children's Dental Health Month.  Each year, we visit schools, daycares and early learning centers to educate young minds on how to properly care for their teeth and maintain good oral health.

This year we began volunteering in January and continued through February and March.  In that time we visited 20 area facilities giving a presentation on dental and oral health to over 1500 children.  In 2016, we will continue to visit these facilities and add some new ones!

                Candy Buy Back

The CDG 5th annual Candy Buy Back program collected 250 pounds of candy that was shipped to Operation Gratitude in California, along with cases of toothbrushes and toothpaste that will be used to make care packages for our troops overseas!

Thank you to everyone who was able to participate.
It is your participation that truly makes this event a success each year.

A Note From the Business Staff

We have updated our Appointment and Financial Policy for 2016.  All patients will be required to review and sign a new copy to have on file at their first visit of the new calendar year.  Please be sure that your most current dental insurance has been provided.  This will help ensure your claims are processed in a timely manner, and avoid any fees for re-submitting claims on your behalf.

Looking back on this past year, we would  like to take this time to remember our friend and colleague, Amy Rathunde.

We lost Amy this past summer, and she has been greatly missed.  Amy aided Dr. Herer in opening our practice here in Lake Zurich six years ago, and devoted a tremendous amount of herself into developing our mission in providing excellence in pediatric dental care.

Wishing everyone a joyous holiday season!

Best Wishes,

Dr. Herer, Dr. Patenio, Dr. Sarah Mahmoud & the CDG Team
