Image: Portrait of Colonel Jabez Banbury (Inventory.2006.0203)

One of Pasadena's earliest settlers was Colonel Jabez Banbury (1830-1900). Prior to emigrating west, Colonel Banbury served with the 5th Iowa Infantry on the Union side of the Civil War. Colonel Banbury was one of the most influential men in early Pasadena. His story, along with those of other local Civil War veterans, will be explored in the exhibit When Johnny Came Marching West: How the Civil War Shaped Pasadena, which opens on April 22.

Downstairs at the Mansion: Eva Fenyes & Her Staff

Thursday, March 5, 6:30 pm

The art, objects, and furnishings on display in the Fenyes Mansion speak eloquently of the taste, discernment, interests, and wealth of the four generations who lived there. Who were these people who ran the household with precision and efficiency in support of this lavish lifestyle? Join Sheryl Peters, educator, researcher, and PMH docent, as she explores the world of domestic service downstairs at the Mansion.

Tickets: Members $15, General $20. Advanced reservations required. Reserve online or call 1.800.838.3006, ext. 1.
