New Look!
|
In a few weeks, our Lenten journey will lead us into the holy week narrative where we will experience the depths of pain and betrayal. Our purple decked sanctuaries will be stripped bare and replaced with the black clothes of grief and death. For a time, we will be immersed in sadness.
But then... a new look will emerge! The great Resurrection will be proclaimed against a backdrop of a garden of visual delights: white and gold banners and paraments complimented by the glory of spring flowers. One glance at the new look and we will remember that love wins and goodness prevails. We will no longer look at life through the lens of holy week sadness, but rather through the prism of Easter joy.
There are many areas in our personal lives that can benefit from the journey toward a new look. Our on-going need for transformation calls us to consider how we look at the world. A change of perspective influences attitude. A change of attitude affects how we experience life. Making the transition from a negative perspective toward a positive perspective can mean the difference between harboring disappointments and celebrating successes. It can mean the difference between sulking about things that are not as we desire and soaring amidst the blessings we have been given.
- How would make you choices differently if you were able to bring a positive perspective to each situation?
- Are you ready for a new look?

Query for the Coach
|
 Dear Sharon,
I have a church that is growing fast and I am aware that others are envious of our position. But, I am starting to think that I just can't do it anymore. I just don't know what God's plan is for me anymore. I don't think I can keep it up. Everyone I talk to seems to think I have a problem with time management and taking time off. My mentor and counselor both said I should be sure to take my day off each week and find time for myself and my family. I have been doing those things for the past year, but it doesn't seem to help.
