July-August 2015 CARS Updates Notification
July 27, 2015 - In this edition we have added new warnings to help you access any issues with a curve, made some report improvements, and made a few changes to the Curve User Interface for editing and saving curves.
We have added some help to alert you to potential problems during the analysis phase. A warning icon will appear on each pass that falls short of the recommended fit or contains a test speed that falls below the requirements of the system. A tool tip with more information will appear if you hover over the icon. It is recommended that you cure the cause of the warnings before saving the curve. If the curve is saved with the warning, the warning will appear on the printed report.

Printed Report Changes
You will notice a few improvements to the printed PDF reports. We have added a block to list the related Data Sessions. Also the software version that was used to generate the report is listed in the lower left corner. Lastly, you will see the Analysis date in the Title block and printed report date in lower right corner. Any unresolved warnings will be displayed below the pass header.

Curve Edit
On the Curves Tab you will no longer be able to see or move your PT/PC with the nudge tool's unless you decide a change is necessary. When you are ready to make a change, you will need to select the edit button. Once in Edit mode, you will be able to change the net, use the nudge tool, resolve any warnings, and save your changes. As always, if you want to revert to the last saved version, cancel the edit mode.

Show Individual Data Points
Located in the curve tab there is now a check box option which allows the user to have the choice of viewing the GPS points on the map as opposed to the colored tiles. You need to be at an appropriately close zoom level to switch to the Data Points mode. Using this visual will increase the loading time of the map view. You can identify a curve with or without the data points being shown.

August 17, 2015 - In this edition we have added new features to help you sort and find your data session records, see the raw data on the curve report, and export all the data to your own database.

New Sorting and Filtering on the Data Sessions List
You can now filter your data session list by the selected items. There is a new check box on the filter line just above the data session select options. When you check this box the list will filter to those items that have been checked. This will work in conjunction with all the other filters, so don't be surprised if your list suddenly becomes blank - just remove any or all of the filters. There is also a new button at the bottom of the list to "Clear filters". This will remove all your filters and present your entire data session list. If you want to reset or remove all the selections, click the new "Clear selection" button and all your check boxes will be removed. The "Zoom to selected data sessions" is unchanged as will continue to refresh the map to the whichever data sessions you have checked.

Collected Data on Printed Report
The printed reports will now optionally list all the source data sessions and data used to determine the advisory speed. You can access this option under Settings.

New Export Capabilities

For the company administrator, there are new data export options. You can now export ALL of your CARS data in any one of three formats - Text (CSV), MS Access (MDB), or the printed reports (PDF). The export will create a zip repository of all the collected and all the processed data in a set of seven tables in the following schema:
Depending on the amount of data, flags and curves your company has collected, the export could take several minutes to a few hours to complete. The export UI can be accessed from Administration (company admin's only) menu, Export All User Data. A list of the past exports is also available for future reference.
Coming Soon...
Select All
You may have noticed that the 'Select All' option has been removed. Selecting hundreds, or possibly thousands of data sessions was causing problems with the portal. We are planning to replace this in the next quarter to allow faster rendering all All data sessions in a single view.  Look for a new tab that will allow you to visualize all your data assets in a single view, which will include all the driven data, curves, flags, and mile markers.

Flags and Signs

We are extending the Flags feature to allow you to capture more data about a sign - you'll be able to store attributes about a sign along with its geo-referenced location. Look for this before year end.
