For 6 months of the liturgical year we retrace the story of Jesus--from anticipating his arrival to celebrating his birth and ministry to making sense of his death, resurrection, and ascension. During the season after Pentecost, we ponder the question: If Jesus is the Christ, then who are we? We invite you to seek answers through the many spiritual, educational, musical, and ministry opportunities at St. Philip's.
If you know of someone who might like to receive these e-updates, feel free to use the "forward to a friend" link to share the newsletter with them! That doesn't add them to any lists but gives them the opportunity to choose to subscribe.
We hope this e-letter is a useful tool in connecting and staying connected with our St. Philip's community!

St. Nicholas and Schola Choirs at Worcester Cathedral
St. Philip's St. Nicholas Choir with Schola adults are serving as the Choir in Residence at Worcester Cathedral this week. The Choir Residency is a strong sign of sharing our gifts on a global level, and is an amazing opportunity for growth for singers, especially our youth. The St. Nicholas Choir is responsible for singing the treble part for all these services with adults singing other voice parts.
The St. Philip's contingent consists of youth and adult choristers, as well as chaperones and friends. They appreciate your prayers while they are on this historic journey.
You can follow along on their adventures by clicking here.

Message from the Senior Warden
|
Dear All, Weekly, and as we are able, we gather together in worship and fellowship, reaffirming our faith and knowledge that all things come from God, that God loves us just as we are, and as God tells us -- to be not afraid. This past year as we made the transition to year-round stewardship, we have read short stories in the bulletin about thanksgiving, and how we are enriched in our lives by gratitude and the realization that God loves us abundantly. We are blessed to be in community with one another offering our praises to God, and our hands and hearts to God's mission. Yet there are times when the awareness of our blessings can fade as we contemplate changes and upheavals.
Shortly, we will be saying adieu to Bihn Tran, our head sexton, Woosug Kang, our Director of Music, and Canon Frank Clark, our Interim Rector and Search Consultant. We give thanks for their faithful stewardship of their ministries, and for their generous sharing of their gifts and their energies in our midst and for the furthering of God's mission in the world. Bihn has steadfastly served St. Philip's and its parishioners for 26 years; for 4 years, Woosug has taken us on a journey of beautiful music and choral firsts; and Canon Clark has shared his wisdom, knowledge, pastoral guidance in the church's transition. So many goodbyes at once is in all likelihood not how we would order the life of the parish, but in the "long slow arc" of God's time, we are not afraid as we remember the love that God holds for each of us and that God is always with us. We offer our thanks to God for these servants of God's work, and send them on to the next stages in their journeys with love, blessings, and prayers. So with love and gratitude, we do not say goodbye Bihn, Woosug, and Canon Clark, but "until we meet again." God's peace and blessings. Alison Lee, Senior Warden

Characterized by great turmoil, the Late Middle Ages was a period of religious diversity and vitality. The four lectures will probe the wide variety of beliefs and practices held by clergy and laity in Europe before the age of the Protestant Reformation. You are invited to attend and help support these future scholars of Reformation history. To learn more about the series click here.

The eight pieces of art were painted by the children, blessed by Canon Clark, and displayed as icons at each station for the Children's Way of the Cross Service held on Good Friday back in March.
