Important Announcement
|
Dear members of St. Philip's In The Hills Episcopal Church:
It is with mixed emotions I share this news today. I have been offered the position of Director of Music Ministry at St. George's Episcopal Church in Nashville, Tennessee. After careful and thoughtful consideration and prayers, I have accepted the position, and my last Sunday at St. Philip's will be August 14.
I have had an amazing four years at St. Philip's as the Director of Music, leading the music community at St. Philip's in making wonderful music for our worship and providing outstanding music experiences for the Tucson community. I would like to thank all of you, wonderful members of this great parish, for your dedication, passionate support for music and liturgy, and a strong sense of community. I would like to thank Canon Clark, staff, members of the music ministries, including Friends of Music and After School Music and Homework Program, and Dr. Jeffrey Campbell. My time at St. Philip's has been an amazing journey and I will miss all of you.
I am sad that I will not get to work with our incoming Rector, the Rev. Robert Hendrickson, because I believe he is going to bring wonderful leadership to this parish. The fact that he will be our new rector made my decision to move to Nashville more difficult. I believe that under his direction, there will be exciting changes and a bright future for St. Philip's. However, I made this choice because of what I see as a positive change in my personal life combined with a positive professional environment at St. George's Episcopal Church. I will be eager to hear how St. Philip's will move forward under the new leadership, and I will keep all of you in prayers for continued growth in Christ.
Sincerely,
Woosug Kang
Director of Music
NOTE: We will celebrate Woosug's ministry with us at a special Evensong service with reception following sometime in July. Watch for further details.
