Bishop Bishop's Annual Visit May 15
The Rt. Rev. Kirk Stevan Smith, Bishop of Arizona, will make his annual visit to St. Philip's on Sunday, May 15, the Day of Pentecost. He will celebrate and preach at the 9 a.m. service, and it is rumored that he will have a special guest with him! He would like families and children to worship with him at that service. He will also celebrate and preach at the 11:15 a.m. service, which will include both baptisms and confirmations. At the 10:15 hour, enjoy Pentecost birthday cake in the Gallery, where our Bishop will lead a forum for youth and adults in which he will talk about our Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Michael Curry, and show us his dynamic and inspiring preaching style.

At the offertory, you will have an opportunity to make a contribution toward the Bishop's Discretionary Fund, which is used to help clergy and their families in need. Special envelopes will be available in the pews. Please make your check payable to St. Philip's, with "Bishop's Discretionary Fund" in the memo line. You may also give online using the  "Support" button on St. Philip's web site, designating it as a Special Gift with "Bishop's Discretionary Fund" in the memo line.

Choral Evensong
Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. we will have our final Evensong service for the season. This Solemn Choral Evensong for Pentecost will feature the Schola Cantorum and St. Nicholas Choir. This candlelit service provides the ideal centering experience of peace and calm to lead you into the Sunday evening before a busy week. Incense will be used. It is preceded by a brief organ recital at 4 p.m. given by Skye Hart from Newman Center at Arizona State University. All are welcome. A reception follows.
