At 10:15 a.m. this coming Sunday, there will be a
very important forum in the Murphey Gallery. Our Interim Rector, the Rev. Canon Frank Clark, and Vestry leaders will update us on our parish transitions as we continue the journey toward welcoming a new rector in the future.
At 9:15 a.m., those who tend to wiggle while worshipping, and those who worship with them, are invited to a
"Comfy Space" service in the Children's Chapel. The Cherub and St. Cecilia Choirs will offer music, Dr. Sandralyn Pierce will preach, and the Promised Land Parish Puppet Theatre will present the Gospel. Read more about "Comfy Space" services

At 2 p.m. in the Church, Friends of Music presents
The LoBros, built around two musically talented brothers, Salvador and Christian Lopez. As artists, the brothers compose pieces that defy the usual musical categories, combining music from a variety of styles and genera including classical, latin, jazz and traditions from around the world to create a uniquely original musical experience. Also in the lineup: Brian Hicks (tenor sax), Joaquin Zamudio (bass), Richard Katz (keys), and Adam Ackermann (drums). Suggested admission $20.
El Tiradito Community Vigil
St. Philip's Border & Immigration Ministry will join members of the local immigration reform community at a community vigil to remember our brothers and sisters who perished or are lost in the desert and learn about recent developments in US immigration and border policies. On Thursday, September 17, meet us at El Minuto Restaurant, Main and Cushing Sts., at 6 p.m. for dinner. We'll walk next door to El Tiradito Shrine for the vigil at 7. El Tiradito Shrine is on Main St. between Simpson and Cushing Sts., south of the Tucson Community Center South Parking Lot. The vigil is sponsored by Derechos Humanos and is held every Thursday at 7 p.m. This is an early evening of music, fellowship, prayer, and reflection. Free Financial Freedom Workshop
The United Methodist Federal Credit Union/Episcopal Federal Credit Union is offering a free financial education workshop, "3 Steps to Financial Freedom," in two Saturday sessions, September 19 and October 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Christ the King Episcopal Church. The workshop is open to the community. The total cost is $10 per person/couple. Note: No personal financial information will be shared. New Grief Series St. Philip's is offering a new series of the grief support program Walking the Mourner's Path®: Transforming Grief into Joyful Living. The series is a Christ-centered, faith based, 8-week, non-denominational grief program and is open to anyone who has experienced a death within the last 24 months. Each session is facilitated by two Mourner's Path certified facilitators as well as a member of the clergy. Sessions are Saturday mornings, beginning September 19 through November 14 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Ferguson Room. The sessions will conclude with the Eucharist Celebration. Staff Singer to Present Master's RecitalTenor Bryce Tomlin, one of St. Philip's staff singers, will present his Master's recital on Saturday, September 19, at 7 p.m. in Holsclaw Hall at the Fred Fox School of Music, University of Arizona. Bryce will sing art songs and arias by J. S. Bach, Hugo Wolf, Jules Massenet, Francesco Paolo Tosti, Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, and Benjamin Britten. Admission is free.
