Message from the Kitagawas
|
Dear St. Philippians,
Kathy joins me in thanking you for a wonderful and warm send-off. Both the party on June 12 and the special coffee hour on June 21 allowed us to speak with many of you, and to hear so many good wishes for our new life. The staff did a wonderful job planning a meaningful final liturgy with special music. We were honored, and we greatly appreciate so many choir members coming out to sing, and robing in June!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to so many people who contributed generously to a purse. Our plans for a trip to Italy begin with a course, The Francis Effect Then and Now, at the Anglican Center in Rome, with a day trip to Assisi. We are still finalizing plans for visiting familiar places like Florence, and places not previously explored. We will think of you with gratitude as we travel.
It still feels like I am just on vacation. I think retirement will sink in as we move into the end of the summer and early autumn. I have been putting multiple meetings and Habitat for Humanity Tucson events (entering 35th Anniversary year) on my otherwise open schedule.
Know that you remain much in our thoughts and prayers.
Faithfully yours,
John
The Rev. Canon John E. Kitagawa
