Good News from the Wardens
|
On behalf of the vestry, we are pleased to announce that the Reverend Canon Frank Clark has accepted the call to be Interim Rector and Search Consultant for St. Philip's In The Hills. Canon Clark has much experience as an Interim and Search Consultant as well as Rector, and will take up his call with us on August 1.
Right now our focus is on celebrating the ministry of John and Kathy Kitagawa and wishing them a fond farewell (see below). We will share more information about Canon Clark in the weeks to come.
We know that you will receive Canon Clark generously and with great welcome.
Faithfully
--Alison Lee, Senior Warden
--Herb Burton, Junior Warden

Celebration Plans
|
Over the next two weeks, we will be celebrating the ministry of the Rev. Canon John Kitagawa and Kathy Kitagawa among us.
A party is planned for Friday, June 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Music Center and Children's Center Courtyard. It will be a potluck cold supper -- you are invited to bring finger foods, salads, and cold dishes. Soft drinks will be provided, and beer and wine will be available for purchase (proceeds to benefit Habitat for Humanity). Childcare will be provided.
To contribute to a retirement gift, make checks payable to St. Philip's with "John Retirement Gift" in the memo line. Place in the offering plate or bring or mail to the office attn. Lois or Bonnie by June 14. A long-time parishioner suggested each of us give $15 -- $1 to commemorate each year of John's ministry with us (plus $1 extra).
A book of letters is being collected to be presented to John. If you would like to contribute a letter, please send or bring it to the church office attn. Stella. Note that it is important that your letter be on 8.5 x 11 paper and flat (not folded) -- odd sizes of paper or cards do not work well in this type of presentation. Please send or bring your letter by Sunday, June 14. Thank you! John and Kathy's last Sunday with us will be Sunday, June 21. We will celebrate their ministry liturgically at the morning services and at Coffee Hour.
(Note: if you are a current or former choir member and would like to help lead worship at the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services that day, please contact Woosug Kang, Director of Music.)
