Pediatric Survey Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
Understanding barriers to delivery of anticipatory guidance for Safe Infant Sleeping Environment by medical provides is helpful to reduce the incidence of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Nearly all unexpected sudden infant deaths in Connecticut are due to an unsafe sleep environment.
This is a survey of medical practitioners who provide routine health maintenance of infants about their practice of delivering safe infant sleep anticipatory guidance to families. By participating in this survey, no identifying information of participants will be collected. The results of this survey will help inform efforts to educate and support medical practitioners in the delivery of Safe Infant Sleeping Environment information to families. If you would like to receive additional information or training on the delivery of Safe Sleep Anticipatory Guidance, please contact: Kirsten Bechtel MD Associate Professor of Pediatrics Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine Co-Chair Connecticut Child Fatality Review Panel Yale School of Medicine Link to Survey
