"If This Is My Last Song"

Join us this Sunday, August 30,
for a very special message from the platform.  Reverend Bob Barth will be retiring from ministry November 15.  This Sunday he gives his final Sunday morning talk in which he poses the question: "If this is my last song, what have I done to make
 the world a better place?"

Reverend Bob will continue to serve this ministry daily until November 15, but this is the last opportunity we'll have to hear him speak.  Please join us.

Joining Fred and the Band this Sunday
is the Marvelous Molly Hammer!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Singer/Songwriting Duo, StoweGood - September 6

World Day of Prayer - September 10

Unity Celebrates the 22nd Annual World Day of Prayer

Thousands of people will join Silent Unity - a global, transdenominational 24/7 prayer ministry - and Unity churches and centers around the world on September 10, 2015, for the 22nd annual Unity World Day of Prayer. The theme of the 24-hour prayer event is "Pray Up Your Life, Pray Up the World." This year's affirmation is "As I pray, I connect my highest thoughts with my deepest faith."

World Day of Prayer gives us an opportunity to come together in celebration of our oneness with God, each other, and the world. Through prayer we foster peace and wholeness in our community and in our individual lives.

The 24-hour prayer vigil will begin the evening of Wednesday, September 9, and continue through Thursday, September 10. Unity invites people of all faiths to join in this sacred prayer activity. Names can be submitted for prayer online at www.worlddayofprayer.org.
The theme 'Pray Up Your Life, Pray Up the World' will be visibly expressed at Unity World Headquarters in Unity Village, MO. The 24-hour prayer vigil traditionally begins with a beautiful candlelight walk across the central courtyard. We invite all people to pray with us from wherever they are, and as a symbol of their prayers, to light a virtual candle at www.worlddayofprayer.org. The candles will be displayed as points of light on a global map. The virtual candle lighting experience will continue through September 10.
Details about the 2015 Unity World Day of Prayer events at Unity Village and in other
communities are online at www.worlddayofprayer.org. Information is available in Spanish at www.diadeoracionmundial.org. World Day of Prayer information is also available on Facebook at www.facebook.com/silent.unity.

This year also marks the 125th anniversary of Silent Unity. Go to www.silentunity.org/125 to learn about the history of the prayer ministry, and share stories of answered prayer and ideas for the future of Silent Unity. Watch for updates and new features throughout the year as this milestone anniversary and the power of affirmative prayer are celebrated.

Church Picnic - Saturday, September 12
We all know that UCOP feels like "family." So we are throwing a good old-fashioned "Family Picnic" to celebrate how much we love this community! There will be delicious food grilling (brats & burgers and such) so everyone can bring a yummy side dish to share. There will be all sorts of fun carnival-type games, including a bouncy house for the kids! And what's a family picnic without a Cake Walk?!   And, for a love offering, you can try your aim in the Pie-in-the-Minister's-Face contest! There is just no end to the fun we will all have on Saturday, September 12th!
Of course, an event of this size requires a lot of folks to help out. Carla Wakefield is the picnic coordinator and she is requesting volunteer support to help run games and events, as well as folks who would like to contribute to the various expenses of the event. If you would like to sign-up to help in some capacity, please contact Carla by email at [email protected]. If we all pull together and do a small part, we can create a great big wonderful event for everyone to enjoy!

Fall Faith 2015 is just around the corner!

Join us October 4 through November 13 as we explore
"Authentic Be-ing: Living from the Truth of what you are"

We will be studying Robert Brumet's newest book,
Living Originally, which can be purchased now in our UCOP bookstore for $12, less than you can get it on Amazon!

CIRCLES:  Our Fall Faith circles will be a little different this year. Rather than the majority of groups meeting at the church on Wednesday evenings, our 2015 Fall Faith circles will meet on different days, at different times and in different locations. You're sure to find a small group circle that meets at a convenient time for you! And it is our hope that these small group circles will continue to meet even after Fall Faith is concluded, continuing the exploration begun in our Fall Faith series and launching into new territory and new curriculum with each season, thus building strong relationships and community through these small groups. Registrations for the Fall Faith circles will be completed entirely online this year beginning September 13. Assistance will be available in the lobby or harmony hall after services for those needing help to register online.

FRIENDS & FAMILY DAY POTLUCK: Sunday, October 4, we encourage you to invite your family and friends to church in the morning to help us kick-off Fall Faith with a great big community potluck!  In keeping with the theme of the book,
Living Originally, we invite you to consider bringing a potluck dish of some original family recipe to share.  Then, of course, invite those same family and friends to come back later that evening for...

KICK-OFF CONCERT:To kick-off the Fall Faith season, we welcome the incomparable Teri Wilder back to town for an amazing concert on Sunday, October 4th!
Join us in the sanctuary at 7:00 pm and get ready to "authentically be rockin' that Truth of what you are!"   Tickets are $20 and will be available for sale online, through "Flo" (our giving kiosk) and after Sunday services beginning September 13 as well.

FALL FAITH EVENT: Then mark your calendars for Friday, November 13,
and plan to join us for a magical evening of dinner and dancing at the
Ritz Charles to celebrate the end of a fabulous Fall Faith series and the continuation of our thriving new small groups! Tickets for the Fall Faith Event
will go on sale in mid-October.

Do You Shop on Amazon?

Many of us do our shopping these days from the comfort and convenience of our own homes using the Amazon marketplace.
Did you know that if you go to our website first, and then enter the Amazon site through our link, the church will then get a small percentage of that purchase?  It's like free money for the church!  And it doesn't have to be a spiritual book or something church-related either. We will get a small percentage of anything you purchase on Amazon, if you go through our site first on your way there. How cool is that?!  It doesn't cost you anything to help support your spiritual community because you were going to shop anyway, weren't you!  Now you can do it and help UCOP at the same time. Just click here and it will take you to the UCOP Amazon access page.  You can also find the Amazon access page from a link on our Homepage as well at www.ucop.org.

So happy shopping and thank you for your support!
We truly appreciate you.
