 | 2014... the Year of "I AM"
| |
The words "I AM" are a holy expression for the name of God - the highest aspect of yourself. This year, we explore the highest possibility for our lives by choosing a quality each month to focus on and express. In every moment know that you are the living expression of the Christ! This year we invite you to consider empowering your life
with the following affirmations:
"I AM"...
Boundless... Real... Courageous... Curious... Adventurous... Lighthearted... Outrageous... Visionary... Limitless... Connected... and Sacred
In the month of April, let us affirm together:
|
 | Conscious Conversations | |
We welcome everyone to be a part of the conversations around how we want Unity Church of Overland Park to grow and emerge going forward. Every person in our spiritual community is an integral and important piece to the overall whole. We want every voice to be heard in expressing how Unity Church of Overland Park can be supportive of one's spiritual journey now and in the future. We also want to hear ideas that you may have for sharing your passions with our ministry in a way that will move us into greater service as we "awaken and express the Christ nature in ourselves, our families, our communities and the world." To facilitate the listening process, we will have small groups of ten meeting in "Conscious Conversations" all around the UCOP campus from 10:15 to 11:00am and 12:30 to 1:30 pm on April 6th and April 27th. Plan to attend one of these sessions.
Sign-ups will be in the lobby this Sunday. Lunch will be available on a love offering basis. Child care will be available, too! We want you to be a part of the conversation. Please join us!

 | Easter Basket Outreach-Last Sunday for Adoptions
| |
Easter is around the corner, the season in which we celebrate our reawakening. Let's include caring for those who have less access to care for themselves into our renewed consciousness.
The Easter Basket Project is now under way and gives us all an opportunity to do just that! We invite you to stop by one of the tables in harmony hall after services and adopt an Easter basket. Then fill it with the needs and wants of either an elder or child of our community who will otherwise go without an Easter basket this year. It is a time to support those in need with items both essential and just plain fun to create a brighter holiday for someone in our collective consciousness. Don't forget to add the love!
This Sunday, April 6, is your last opportunity to adopt an Easter basket!
All Easter baskets are due back to the church by Palm Sunday, April 13, 2014. If you would like to serve on the Easter Basket Team, please contact Glenda Analla at 913.593.5380.

 | Quantum TappingPalooza! | |
Saturday, April 5th you are invited to a very special concert by Bukeka and Dr. Landrith. Come and enjoy this first-of-a-kind musical concert that integrates Tapping/EFT with Heartmath to move you into the "quantum flow" to experience heaven on earth. This will be an evening of enchanted songs and chants, highlighted by the emotional energy of the group consciousness moving into a connection with your heart.
At this concert we will use music merged with body energies to expand your consciousness so that you will feel connected with the Supreme Presence in creation. By tapping on specific energy points in your body, endorphins are released giving you an experience of being 'high on life.' The concert will use your body and heart chakra energies so that you will enjoy music and chants without limits while being in a quantum flow.
The concert will feature two parts: the first more active and the second more meditative and flowing. During the first section, we will tap to the beat of the music on specific energy points on our bodies to release endorphins that will provide an experience of being 'high on life.' During this part of the concert, many people also feel moved to dance along with the tapping.
During the second portion of the concert, we will use Heartmath techniques to create a deep, rhythmic flow to the music and enhance the deep feelings you have in your heart. Many people feel so moved during this section that tears of joy and eternal bliss come to the surface. We will also use chanting as a way to further expand our consciousness.
All are welcome!!!! Prepare to be deeply touched and healed, as well as have a lot of fun. Suggested love offering of $20 for this concert. Please register even if you are not sure you can come as this gives us a clearer idea of how many will be attending. But most importantly just come... all are welcome.

 | The Return of Mulch Madness!
| |
Are you ready to get grubby, get some exercise, soak up some sunshine and vitamin D and do a great service for your spiritual community? Then we invite you to join us Saturday morning, April 19th, when we have two big truckloads of cedar mulch arriving to spread around the grounds in our flower beds. Help us beautify the campus before our big Easter Sunday. Bring any wheel barrows, rakes, shovels or other implements suitable for mulch distribution with you from home (if you have them). And if you'd like to help but can't physically wield a rake or shovel, we could use your help in providing munchies and water for our mulchers. If you're interested in helping out, please stop by the Mulch Madness table in harmony hall after services to sign up. Or you may contact Jane Sauve here.
Many hands make light work so come join in the fun!

 | In the Presence Meditation
| |
This meditation provides the opportunity to go into a deep, deep experience of the Presence. Meditation does wonderful things to our human bodies, giving them time to revitalize and heal themselves. At the same time, our souls experience their real, true selves, going to the place inside that is timeless and eternal. After the meditation, there will be a sacred prayer circle to share and honor one another's prayer intentions. You'll experience such serenity you'll want it to go on forever. This month, the class will be offered on the fourth Tuesday of the month, rather than the third Tuesday.

 | Listening to Your Soul
| |
"When the soul wishes to experience something, she throws an image of the experience before her and enters her own image." - Meister Eckhart During this 3-hour workshop you will release the transformative power of intuition as your soul gravitates to images that have meaning for you. SoulCollage® is a process for creating a personal card deck that you can use daily to listen to your soul wisdom. Making and using SoulCollage ® cards, you gain insight and answers for whatever questions you have, wherever you are on your journey. This is a profound practice that gives you access to your inner compass and your highest wisdom. Invite a friend to join you for the workshop or come and make a new friend who shares your interest in the mystical and magical. You don't need any artistic ability; the cards are made with simple cutting and pasting skills. Everything you need is already within you, waiting to be discovered through this simple "soul-tending" process. Rev. Barbara Hadley is a certified SoulCollage® facilitator and has trained with Seena Frost, the originator of the process. She is an ordained Unity minister and also works as a professional chaplain at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, serving in the Neonatal Intensive Care and Mother & Baby units. In addition to chaplaincy, Barbara speaks in Unity churches on a regular basis, teaches spiritual education classes and facilitates the Alternatives to Violence program in state and federal prisons. A native of Kansas City, she has been a member of Unity Church of Overland Park for over 25 years. She and her husband, Tom, have two grown children and two tiny dogs.
