2014... the Year of "I AM"
The words "I AM" are a holy expression for the name of God - the highest aspect of yourself. This year, we explore the highest possibility for our lives by choosing a quality each month to focus on and express. In every moment know that you are the living expression of the Christ!

This year we invite you to consider empowering your life
with the following affirmations:

"I AM"...
Boundless... Real... Aware... Curious... Adventurous... Lighthearted... Outrageous... Visionary... Limitless... Connected... and Sacred

In the month of March, let us affirm together:

Slide Projector Fundraiser

We are very excited about our new projector.  It is performing beautifully!  In order to keep it after the 30-day demonstration period, we must raise $10,000.  We have raised $5,700 over the last two weeks toward the projector!  So we have two weeks left to raise the remaining $4,300.  We have put the Change for Change bowl back into service in the lobby again so you can fill your cups with change and bring it with you to church.  You can also enclose a check in one of the specially marked offering envelopes available by the bowl and on the reception counter.

If you would like to donate by credit or debit card, a volunteer will gladly assist you at the table next to the Change for Change bowl after services, or you may go online to our website and designate your donation for the projector.

Book Signing with Craig McAndrew this Sunday!

Craig McAndrew will be signing his new book, "Forgiving Our Fathers, Forgiving Ourselves" after services this Sunday! Craig is a counselor in private practice in the Kansas City area specializing in addictions, stress, anxiety and depression as well as PTSD and other disorders.  He  believes in the healing benefits of giving expression to one's creative, artistic impulses, whether it's music, drawing, painting, writing or the spoken word.

"Forgiving Our Fathers, Forgiving Ourselves" is Craig's second book in a trilogy.  He is currently working on the third.  Although the series is fiction, the healing principles of forgiveness are very much real.  The first book, "Forgiving Judas - A Man's Journey to Forgive His Brother," is available from Family Affair Publishing as well as through Amazon. He has also produced "Meditations for Forgiveness & Relaxation" on compact disc which includes two guided meditations and three meditation soundtracks on this hour long CD.  This can also be ordered from [email protected] or through Amazon.

Easter Basket Outreach

Easter is around the corner, the season in which we celebrate our reawakening. Let's include caring for those who have less access to care for themselves into our renewed consciousness.

The Easter Basket Project gets under way this Sunday, March 23, 2014 and gives us all an opportunity to do just that!  We invite you to stop by one of the tables in harmony hall or out in the lobby after services and adopt an Easter basket. Then fill it with the needs and wants of either an elder or child of our community who will otherwise go without an Easter basket this year.  It is a time to support those in need with items both essential and just plain fun to create a brighter holiday for someone in our collective consciousness.  Don't forget to add the love!

All Easter baskets are due back to the church by Palm Sunday, April 13, 2014.  If you would like to serve on the Easter Basket Team, please contact Glenda Analla at 913.593.5380.

In the Presence Meditation

This meditation provides the opportunity to go into a deep, deep experience of the Presence. Meditation does wonderful things to our human bodies, giving them time to revitalize and heal themselves. At the same time, our souls experience their real, true selves, going to the place inside that is timeless and eternal. After the meditation, there will be a sacred prayer circle to share and honor one another's prayer intentions. You'll experience such serenity you'll want it to go on forever.

This month, the class will be offered on the fourth Tuesday of the month, rather than the third Tuesday.

Quantum TappingPalooza!

Saturday, April 5th you are invited to a very special concert by Bukeka and Dr. Landrith. Come and enjoy this first-of-a-kind musical concert that integrates Tapping/EFT with Heartmath to move you into the "quantum flow" to experience heaven on earth. This will be an evening of enchanted songs and chants, highlighted by the emotional energy of the group consciousness moving into a connection with your heart.

At this concert we will use music merged with body energies to expand your consciousness so that you will feel connected with the Supreme Presence in creation. By tapping on specific energy points in your body, endorphins are released giving you an experience of being 'high on life.' The concert will use your body and heart chakra energies so that you will enjoy music and chants without limits while being in a quantum flow.

The concert will feature two parts: the first more active and the second more meditative and flowing. During the first section, we will tap to the beat of the music on specific energy points on our bodies to release endorphins that will provide an experience of being 'high on life.' During this part of the concert, many people also feel moved to dance along with the tapping.

During the second portion of the concert, we will use Heartmath techniques to create a deep, rhythmic flow to the music and enhance the deep feelings you have in your heart. Many people feel so moved during this section that tears of joy and eternal bliss come to the surface. We will also use chanting as a way to further expand our consciousness.

All are welcome!!!!   Prepare to be deeply touched and healed, as well as have a lot of fun. Suggested love offering of $20 for this concert. Please register even if you are not sure you can come as this gives us a clearer idea of how many will be attending.  But most importantly just come... all are welcome.

Conscious Conversations
We welcome everyone to be a part of the conversations around how we want Unity Church of Overland Park to grow and emerge going forward.  Every person in our spiritual community is an integral and important piece to the overall whole.  We want every voice to be heard in expressing how Unity Church of Overland Park can be supportive of one's spiritual journey now and in the future.  We also want to hear ideas that you may have for sharing your passions with our ministry in a way that will move us into greater service as we "awaken and express the Christ nature in ourselves, our families, our communities and the world."  To facilitate the listening process, we will have small groups of ten meeting in "Conscious Conversations" all around the UCOP campus from 12:30pm to 1:30 pm on April 6th and April 27th.  Plan to attend one of these sessions.

Sign-ups will be in the lobby on March 23rd and 30th.  Lunch will be available on a love offering basis.  Child care will be available, too!  We want you to be a part of the conversation.  Please join us!

Vision Board Workshop

"Hold an image of the life you want, and that image will become fact."

 -- Norman Vincent Peale

Have you been meaning to create a "treasure map" to the life you dream of living? Maybe you have even been collecting images and ideas?  Now is the time to take it to the next level.  This practical class will create a safe place for you to express your heart's desire and then get started on bringing it to reality.  In four weeks we will sort through what we want, what it looks like, and put it onto a poster board.  In the important last week, we'll explore the resistance (chemicalization!) we experience when we see it in full color.  Each session will include a short meditation as well as work time.  Then in the fall, we will meet again to share our progress!

Manifest the Life of Your Dreams

Dr. Garland Landrith, from the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know?" is returning to Unity Church of Overland Park! He will be offering a seminar that will teach you how to release yourself from being a victim of your subconscious doubts and, instead, expand your consciousness so you can become a co-creator. Dr. Landrith has offered his very popular Quantum Tapping (EFT) seminars in the past and has now expanded them to incorporate HeartMath and Ho'oponopono. Tapping on acupuncture points aligns the body's energies with your heart; HeartMath directly uses the heart chakra as its main healing and manifestation point; Ho'oponopono uses love so that the focus is shifted from changing another person to changing oneself instead. By using these techniques together, Dr. Landrith will use the Quantum Love Flow as a clearing device to enhance your ability to create miracles with your mind. You will even learn how to release those subconscious blocks that have been holding you back. By using a unique combination of Tapping, HeartMath and Quantum Ho'oponopono we can then transform these negative blocks into positive ones by creating a new Brain Matrix. You will feel your energy flowing like you are "high on life" or what is termed "being in the zone." You will be taught the same Quantum techniques that Dr. Landrith used to reduce the crime rates in several major cities, proving that we can make the world a better place with our intentions. Also Dr. Landrith will work on volunteers from the participants, so that you can learn how to do this healing technique by first hand observation. Expect your life to be totally transformed after this class!

If you missed a class, Dr. Landrith invites you to arrive thirty minutes prior to the start of class so that he can bring you up to speed!  Register here Materials Fee: $10.

Bible Overview: The Hebrew Scriptures

Do You Shop on Amazon?

Many of us do our shopping these days from the comfort and convenience of our own homes using the Amazon marketplace. Did you know that if you go to our website first, and then enter the Amazon site through our link, the church will then get a small percentage of that purchase?  It's like free money for the church!  And it doesn't have to be a spiritual book or something church-related either. We will get a small percentage of anything you purchase on Amazon, if you go through our site first on your way there. How cool is that?!  It doesn't cost you anything to help support your spiritual community because you were going to shop anyway, weren't you!  Now you can do it and help UCOP at the same time. Just click here and it will take you to the UCOP Amazon access page.  You can also find the Amazon access page from a link on our Homepage as well at www.ucop.org.   So happy shopping and thank you for your support!  We truly appreciate you.
