2014... the Year of "I AM"
The words "I AM" are a holy expression for the name of God - the highest aspect of yourself. This year, we explore the highest possibility for our lives by choosing a quality each month to focus on and express. In every moment know that you are the living expression of the Christ!

This year we invite you to consider empowering your life
with the following affirmations:

"I AM"...
Boundless... Courageous... Aware... Curious... Adventurous... Lighthearted... Outrageous... Visionary... Limitless... Connected... and Sacred

In the month of February, let us affirm together:

Midwest Unity Men's Retreat

We all grow older every year, chronologically for certain. But the years can also take a toll on our bodies as well as our mental and emotional makeup. The question is how can we make our journey through life one in which we grow in wholeness, not just in years or number of medical conditions or treatments. Dr. Fleming will present a holistic paradigm incorporating resources from various sources including the "Wheel of Health" and associated processes from Duke University Integrative Medicine (http://www.dukeintegrativemedicine.org/about-us/wheel-of-health) which help us place our own health care in the context of self care, determined not by outside factors but by priorities that we determine. Large group and small group meetings will facilitate this process. We also will deepen our understanding and expertise of meditation and learn other, new regenerating and enlivening mind-body health promoting strategies.

You may register for the retreat after services in harmony hall, or go online at http://www.ucop.org/content/midwest-unity-mens-retreat  or contact Peter Jarosewycz at [email protected] or 816-941-3575

Crystal Singing Bowl Concert

Ignite the light within your heart with the sacred sound of Crystal Singing Bowls. That light within us is the spark of life. When the light is shining brightly, we are alive and singing our song to the world, loud and strong, which means we experience life with more ease and a greater sense of adventure. Sacred sound is one way we can ignite the light! The sound is useful for meditation, healing, stress reduction, biofeedback, chakra balancing and cell toning. The tones set up a "frequency following response" that create a synchronization of the left and right brain hemispheres. Relaxation, creativity and a sense of balance follows. Come unwind and take in the healing sounds of Crystal Singing Bowls and learn the magic and mystery of these ancient bowls.

Advanced Tickets: $20 available through our website here  ($25 at the door)

Tickets will also be available at a table in harmony hall after services this week.

Jeff Klein travels throughout the United States offering Crystal Singing Bowl concerts at worship services, healing centers, yoga studios, senior homes and more. Participants are astounded by the uplifting energy they feel and often report a lessening of physical, mental and emotional pain, as well as a greater sense of spiritual well-being.

Vision Board Workshop

"Hold an image of the life you want, and that image will become fact."

 -- Norman Vincent Peale

Have you been meaning to create a "treasure map" to the life you dream of living? Maybe you have even been collecting images and ideas?  Now is the time to take it to the next level.  This practical class will create a safe place for you to express your heart's desire and then get started on bringing it to reality.  In four weeks we will sort through what we want, what it looks like, and put it onto a poster board.  In the important last week, we'll explore the resistance (chemicalization!) we experience when we see it in full color.  Each session will include a short meditation as well as work time.  Then in the fall, we will meet again to share our progress!

Manifest the Life of Your Dreams

Dr. Garland Landrith, from the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know?"

is returning to Unity Church of Overland Park! He will be offering a seminar that will teach you how to release yourself from being a victim of your subconscious doubts and, instead, expand your consciousness so you can become a co-creator. Dr. Landrith has offered his very popular Quantum Tapping (EFT) seminars in the past and has now expanded them to incorporate HeartMath and Ho'oponopono. Tapping on acupuncture points aligns the body's energies with your heart; HeartMath directly uses the heart chakra as its main healing and manifestation point; Ho'oponopono uses love so that the focus is shifted from changing another person to changing oneself instead. By using these techniques together, Dr. Landrith will use the Quantum Love Flow as a clearing device to enhance your ability to create miracles with your mind. You will even learn how to release those subconscious blocks that have been holding you back. By using a unique combination of Tapping, HeartMath and Quantum Ho'oponopono we can then transform these negative blocks into positive ones by creating a new Brain Matrix. You will feel your energy flowing like you are "high on life" or what is termed "being in the zone." You will be taught the same Quantum techniques that Dr. Landrith used to reduce the crime rates in several major cities, proving that we can make the world a better place with our intentions. Also Dr. Landrith will work on volunteers from the participants, so that you can learn how to do this healing technique by first hand observation. Expect your life to be totally transformed after this class! Register here

Materials Fee: $10.

Do You Shop on Amazon?

Many of us do our shopping these days from the comfort and convenience of our own homes using the Amazon marketplace. Did you know that if you go to our UCOP website first, and then enter the Amazon site through our link, the church will then get a small percentage of that purchase?  It's like free money for the church!  And it doesn't have to be a spiritual book or something church-related either. We will get a small percentage of anything you purchase on Amazon, if you go through our site first on your way there. How cool is that?!  It doesn't cost you anything to help support your spiritual community because you were going to shop anyway, weren't you!  Now you can do it and help UCOP at the same time. Just click here and it will take you to the UCOP Amazon access page.  You can also find the Amazon access page from a link on our Homepage as well at www.ucop.org.   So happy shopping and thank you for your support!  We truly appreciate you.

Flower Donations
Did you know that you can commemorate special occasions,
like birthdays or anniversaries, graduations or anything you'd like to honor by providing the flower arrangement for Sunday?  And mention of your generous gift and the occasion you are honoring will be made in our bulletin.  Just go to the reception counter where an usher can help you select a date and sign up to provide the flowers on one of our "Flower Donation Forms."  Or you may contact Sandi Keeler.
It's a wonderful way to mark your special day and help support the church services as well.
