"Share the Joy" with those in need

UCOP has a wonderful outreach opportunity through our Share the Joy project. We are providing for 200 adults and children in need this holiday season. We will make their holiday brighter by providing caring gifts to lift their hearts and fill their needs. All gifts will be dontated to organizations in our area, which include the Marty Lane House, Hope Center, KVC, Cornerstone and members of UCOP. You have the opportunity to adopt one or more of these individuals and help to fill their wish list. What a wonderful way to share some of your generous holiday spirit and feel the flow of abundance at the same time! Contact Marci Wagner-Heaton at [email protected] to volunteer, adopt a tag or ask any additional questions.
Stop by one of the adoption tables in the lobby or harmony hall after services this Sunday!  All Share the Joy gifts are due back to the church by December 8th.

Guided Meditation

Awaken the Healer Within
By popular demand, the journey continues as Dr. Jonah Yakel shares practices from the mystical tradition of Sufism to help you awaken to the divine healing presence that resides within. Whether you are a beginner or experienced, this class will help you tune to the source of all healing.  This class is great for both healers and those seeking to heal.

Dr. Jonah Yakel is a healer, teacher, speaker, chiropractor and Flow practitioner. In 2002 he awakened to his life's calling, abruptly leaving his career as an electrical engineer, to pursue his dream of being an alternative health care practitioner.  Guided by the knowledge that the body has an innate intelligence and contains a potential for healing far greater than any outside source could ever provide, he obtained his doctorate in chiropractic in 2006.  In May 2009, Dr. Yakel was involved in a near fatal car accident resulting in over 25 broken bones and significant internal injuries.  He has since made a full recovery believed only possible through a combination of gentle adjustments, functional medicine, nutrition, exercise and mindful living.  He is now left with a deep gratitude for life and a passion to help as many people as possible access their natural gifts and experience the best life has to offer.

Youth & Family Christmas Show!
December 15th at 6:00pm in the sanctuary

It's Christmas Eve in the tiny town of Hope, Kansas and the staff of the beloved small town radio station, W.H.Y., is busy spinning Christmas carols for the good people of Hope.  That is, until the Scrooge-like station controller, Mr. Zander, arrives to tell them that this may be their last Christmas on the air!

Can they save their station?  Can they pull the people of Hope together to find a solution?  Will you join us on December 15th at the Rally to Save W.H.Y. in the "Nick of Time"?

The children and staff of our Youth & Family Ministry have been working on developing this play for about a year now, through workshops, rehearsals and set building days.  They have invested their love and endless joy into bringing you a show you'll not soon forget!  We hope you'll join us.  And bring some cookies too!  Hot cocoa and a Cookie Potluck will follow the show!
In the Presence Meditation

Tuesday, December 17th, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
with Debra Baker

In presence

This meditation provides the opportunity to go into a deep, deep experience of the Presence. Meditation does wonderful things to our human bodies, giving them time to revitalize and heal themselves. At the same time, our souls experience their real, true selves, going to the place inside that is timeless and eternal. After the meditation, there will be a sacred prayer circle to share and honor one another's prayer intentions. You'll experience such serenity you won't want it to end. This month, experience the special "All Is Calm, All Is Bright" meditation, a traditional favorite for the last 10 years!
