Fall Faith EVENT and WORKSHOP!

This year's Fall Faith Event will be somewhat different than in years past. We will begin the evening with an Opening Reception in harmony hall at 6:00p.m. and enjoy a variety of hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Everyone will have an equal chance to win fabulous prizes in our FUNd-raising Drawing! Each entry in the drawing costs $5 (or get 5 entries for just $20).  The drawing will be held  in the sanctuary, right before our evening's entertainment gets under way.
Then at 7:30, comedian and motivational speaker, Kyle Cease, takes the stage in a show called "Life Is a Playground."  Kyle was ranked #1 in 2009 on Comedy Central's Stand-Up Showdown. He is also a highly sought after motivational and inspirational speaker who uses comedy to get his message of consciousness out into the world.  ( www.kylecease.com )
Following the comedy event, we will head back down to harmony hall for Dancing and a Dessert Reception from 9:00-11:00p.m.
Kyle will also offer a workshop called "Evolving Out Loud," on Saturday the 16th, following the event. This will be a 5-hour motivational workshop with lunch from Jason's Deli included. Benefits from this talk and workshop will include minimizing, if not ending stage fright, writers block, hesitation, doubt, fear and moving towards what you really want in your life, moving to a place beyond where you are now.  Money, health, relationships, all that stuff can be improved as you move towards your core.  Kyle will guide you in the art of allowing and letting go and in the unlimited art of playing.  He'll also discuss adding humor to your life and work.  The workshop will be open to Fall Faith participants, as well as the greater community. So if you know someone who might be interested in, or benefit from the workshop, by all means, tell them about it!

Tickets for the Event and the Workshop, as well as entries for the

FUN-draising Drawing all go on sale THIS SUNDAY, October 20th!

An Evening of Kirtan
An Evening of Kirtan with Jai Spirit
Thursday, October 17 from 7:00  - 8:30 p.m.

Kirtan is the meditative chanting of ancient mantras, accompanied by sacred music, which enables us to connect to the divine within. It is a devotional practice

that involves the whole being, mind, body and spirit, through the repetition of Sanskrit chants and devotional phrases.

As we move through this Fall Faith season and work our way through Brene Brown's challenging book, Daring Greatly, we may experience a myriad of reactions and emotions.  This Kirtan event provides a wonderful opportunity

to express those energies through our bodies and voices.

 Suggested Love Offering: $10

Jai Spirit is an inspired group of Kirtan artists dedicated to opening the heart through ecstatic chant and devotional singing. Mark Gossman, Gina Nina Namaste, John Mark Aladeen, Alison Dishinger, and Clark Jamison

Women in Unity Meeting - Saturday, October 19
The "Radical Forgiveness" Ceremony/Workshop (a long-time favorite at Unity) returns on Saturday, Oct 19. Hundreds from UCOP have already attended this empowering ceremony/workshop (some more than once). Most of us already know that forgiveness is a powerful choice, an action that literally transforms your heart and life. Unfortunately, traditional forgiveness (let by-gones be by-gones) is often difficult and can take years to accomplish. "Radical Forgiveness" is a step-by-step technology that empowers you to forgive consciously and quickly. We won't just talk about forgiveness. During our sacred, mostly non-verbal "Radical Forgiveness" ceremony you will learn, experience and integrate this amazing process. Participants leave feeling lighter, more powerful and peaceful.

Author Kathryn Andries will be available for a book signing outside the bookstore after services on October 20th. In the book "Soul Choices: Six Paths to Find Your Life Purpose" author Kathryn Andries explores six unique methods of self-awareness including past lives, astrology, numerology, iris analysis, birth order and palmistry.
