Change of Plans for Rock N Roll Sunday

Remember how we've been talking about Rock N Roll Sunday on August 4th? Well, plans have changed just a bit. We are still going to ROCK the church,
but in a slightly different way. Our awesome UCOP Band will be here for
the first ever "Band Jam Sunday!"
 Band Jam Sunday

Due to logistical challenges, the Rock N Roll Sunday service we had planned is being rescheduled. But the band will be here on the 4th and you won't want to miss this opportunity to hear them stretch out musically.

Reverend Patricia Bass will guide us on an exploration of how we might "Make a Difference" in this world, through inspirational message interspersed with feature performances by some of our nationally recognized UCOP band members. And everyone is still invited to wear your favorite concert attire and come to church August 4th

 ready to rock the house!

Not only that!  Reverend Robin Ferguson will unveil the plans for this year's Fall Faith Series on August 4th, so you'll definitely want to be there to hear all about that!

If you have any old newspapers or old school papers found while cleaning out backpacks for the new school year, please bring them along! The more the merrier! This party is best suited for kids around school age and parents are welcome to stay and have fun with us, or head out for a little "me time!" We look forward to seeing you there!

Change for Change

Our Prosperity in Action Team has come up with a fun way for the entire congregation (even the kids) to participate in the hiring process of our new senior minster in a way that truly supports Unity Church of Overland Park through this time of change!

Change for Change

What it is: To help cover the expenses of bringing three candidates in to try out for the senior minister position, the Prosperity in Action Team is implementing the "Change for Change" program.

How you do it: Pick up a "Change for Change" cup at church, and at the end of each day, put your change in the cup. Then on Sunday, bring your change with you and put it in the "Change for Change" bowl in the lobby. We will give you regular updates as to how much has been raised.

New opportunities to help: You may also now choose to fund a specific expense, such as a plane ticket, or hotel stay, or a breakfast or lunch. The Prosperity in Action Team has a list of specific expenses, both large and small, that you may now pledge to take care of on behalf of our spiritual community.  Just speak with one of the PiA team members in the lobby after services.
Thus far, in coin and pledges combined, we have raised a total of $3693.75 as of July 22nd.  Thank you to everyone who has donated so generously.

At the same time, our souls experience their real, true selves, going to the place inside that is timeless and eternal. After the meditation, there will be a sacred prayer circle to share and honor one another's prayer intentions. You'll experience such serenity you won't want it to end.
