Greetings!

It's Christmas time! At Unity Church of Overland Park our halls are decked in holiday cheer and you can even hear bells jingle if you listen closely.

There are signs of the spirit of Christmas everywhere you go - on TV and radio, in your neighborhoods, in the stores and in your very own home. We invite you to bring the Christmas spirit deep into your heart this season. We have many special opportunities for you to join in and feel the love and cheer of the holidays here with us at Unity. Read on to learn more.

We welcome you home to Unity this Christmas season.

Rev. Patricia's Blog - Believing Eyes
p bass Yesterday, I learned a new expression - "Believing Eyes."  A friend of mine promised to be "believing eyes" for me and said he would see for me what I am struggling to see for myself.

His words reminded me of another friend of mine who was a very committed mother to her teenage son.  Whenever he would come to her with a problem or a decision, she would refrain from giving advice. She would simply say to him, "I know you will make a good choice. I know you will make the right decision." Time and again she would repeat these words in the hopes that he would come to trust his own wisdom and judgment. more

Celebration - 528 care kits are now on their way to the East coast
Our goal was to create 500 care kits and we created 528 total! Thank you to Chuck Romero, hurricane Sandy relief efforts coordinator and all the volunteers who helped make it possible to exceed our goal!

Heart to HeartChuck said YES to Spirit's call to help the east coast and shares - "Seeing all the volunteers on November 18 [assembling care kits] was such a blessing to me this thankful season. It was truly a perfect kickoff to the holiday season. So to this wonderful experience I quote from Mother Teresa."

"Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway." Mother Teresa
