SPRINGTIME AROUND THE SHOP
Hello, friends!

It's springtime. Well, almost. The daffodils are up, the snow is (almost entirely) gone and we've visited the beach several times. The Village Cheese Shanty is open and every day, your familiar faces pop in to the shop, letting us know you've made it home safe after a long winter.
It's so good to see you.

Sasha and Uncle Chad (Liz's husband) at Good Harbor on Sunday

We've spent the past several weeks clearing out the cobwebs here, both literally and figuratively (hello, clean office!), and we cannot--I repeat, cannot--WAIT to share what's just around the bend. We've been busy little bees this winter, working hard behind the scenes to introduce to you some sweet delights we think you'll love.

And as we always do, we'll be having a kick-off-the-season party here at the store on Memorial Day weekend, where we'll bring in the first wave of these knitterly treats.  Because as you know, Memorial Day weekend not only marks the beginning of summer in Northern Michigan, but is the shop's anniversary.
And this is a big one--15 years.
(Nine years for me!)

15-Year Anniversary Party
5 to 8 p.m.
yarn, gifts and a champagne toast

We'll be bringing you more details in a few weeks, but don't forget to mark your calendars--it wouldn't be a celebration without you.

This is a public service announcement that we ordered a few extra skeins of the Ursa Major that is arriving next month.
If you were on the fence before about joining the yarn club
or
you forgot to order an extra skein with your monthly order,
we have a few extra that are not spoken for.
Don't wait, however--we don't expect they'll last more than a few days--we are signing up new club members every day of the week.  Call us at (231) 228-2800, email woolandhoney@gmail.com or visit us online.

FINISHING WORKSHOP:
SATURDAY, MAY 16
1 to 3 PM
We hope you've had a productive winter, stitching away on sweaters and knitting down that stash. We imagine, too, that a few of you might have some projects to tidy up--and that you might have questions about how to piece those larger projects together.
If you're ready to sew up a sweater and you don't know how (or your skills are a tad rusty), this workshop is for you.

Saturday, May 16th
1 to 3 p.m.

One of the most important aspects of knitting isn't the actual knitting--it's the sewing, seaming & wrestling that some cleverly call "finishing". Knowing how to match up the proper techniques insures overall knitting success. This session will put you at ease, leaving you to create pieces you're proud to call hand-knit. We'll focus on the three major seams you encounter in the knitting world, as well as the infamous Kitchener stitch.  (Which isn't nearly as difficult as you think. Really.)
