Wow. What a weekend we just had. We are astounded by your response to our Quince & Co. trunk show on Friday and Saturday....and we're tickled to know you're just as in love with the yarns (and the colors, textures and patterns!) as we are. We think this is just the start of a very, very beautiful friendship. We will admit that with all the weekend goings-on, there was just no way to squeeze in the second of our 12 Knits on Friday. While we know time is of the essence, we know you understand. Good thing this installment is FAST....and perfect for lakeside stitching. This week's project is kind of a big deal for me--it actually doesn't even involve knitting. (Gasp!) Nope. This week's project is all about bending your mind a bit--crochet meets jewelry meets non-traditional fiber. What do you make for your stylish friend who has everything--or the trendy knitter that can make it for herself? With about two hours and no previous crochet experience (promise!), you can easily create a beautiful cuff bracelet with flexible wire and tumbled beach glass. Dress it up with a little black cocktail dress or down with an everyday cardigan and jeans, this simple gift puts a new spin on traditional jewelry.

While we hope you're spending every minute of your spare time soaking up summer with reckless abandon, we also know that a few short months from now is the culminating event for generous knitters everywhere. The holiday season, while it may be just a frosty glimmer on the horizon, is slowly approaching. And we know, because we've had the same conversations with so many of you year after year (after year), that this is the year you're going to do it right. No more knitting-induced carpal tunnel that sidelines you for the entire month of January. No more Christmas Eve all-nighters (because we probably don't need to remind you that you're not 19 anymore.) No more last-minute, caution-to-the-wind, unrealistic projects that leave you sweating, swearing and wondering whether they'll even like it. (You can't knit a pair of socks for everyone in your office, your daughter's piano teacher and your husband's boss's brother if you wait until Thanksgiving weekend to start. We know. We've tried.)
