SPEND $250, GET $25 FREE
It's high time we honor our loyal customers for their patronage--without you, we wouldn't be here! Our Frequent Customer Cards are punch cards that, when you spend $250 in the store--on classes, kits and yarn*--you earn a $25 gift certificate, either to spend on your next purchase or, if you're a really nice person, to give to a friend. ** Our cards will be available for pickup at our inaugural Thursday night Open Knitting this week, January 23rd and to make up for lost time, for the next FOUR weeks (through February 15th), all purchases made during EITHER Open Knitting on Thursday evenings OR Saturday mornings will be worth DOUBLE PUNCHES. (Example: Spend $25 and get $50 punched on your card.) * Special orders and sale items do not apply toward Frequent Customer Cards.** Nobody really does that, so don't feel bad if you don't want to, either.

THURSDAYS, 5:00-7:30 p.m. *NEW*
SATURDAYS, 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon
Is this long winter getting...well, a bit long? Want to meet a new group of friends? Ready to take your knitting to the next level? If you're like us, you just might just find that you've got the beginnings (ahem) of cabin fever--and the itch to get out of the house one night a week. Or maybe you need the peer pressure of other knitters to finish up a few tired projects.
Open Knitting could just be the thing to accelerate your knitting this winter. There's no agenda here, other than for a group of knitters, crocheters and spinners to get to know each other while enjoying their favorite type of craft. Bring your favorite beverage (tea, hot chocolate, or maybe something a bit stronger), your needles and come see what we're all about. We'll save you a seat.
There are a few ground rules, though, that we'd like to make sure you're abreast of as we start a new year.
-Open Knitting is not a club. This isn't a members-only kind of gathering: ANYONE and EVERYONE is welcome. (And yes, that includes kids!) We do our best to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're a beginning knitter or you've got 48 years of stitching under your belt. It should go without saying, but please be mindful of your knitting neighbors. We try to refrain from political, religious and otherwise "iffy" topics. We're here to relax, not debate. We take turns adding to the conversation so everyone feels like they belong. Let everyone have a chance at the floor, please.
-Open Knitting is not a class. Sure, there are lots of people here to share advice and offer help when you're in a bind, but please be respectful of those who come to enjoy themselves. If you need help with an extra sticky project, we'll be happy to schedule a private lesson for one-on-one intensive instruction.
-There are no mandates on what you can or can't bring into the store (we're cool like that!), but we appreciate your business. Open Knitting--whether it's a late night mid-week or an early Saturday morning--is only made possible by our loyal customers. Thank you for supporting your Local Yarn Shop.

Grocer's Daughter Chocolate was founded in 2004 by a passion for chocolate--one that focuses on fairly-traded cacao and the highest quality ingredients. Grocer's Daughter chocolates are made using fruits, edible flowers and herbs from the company gardens whenever possible, in the soils of northern Michigan--just a few miles away, perched atop a dune in the quaint village of Empire.
Elara Coleman is a native Michigander who creates gorgeous jewelry from 100% recycled sterling and fine silver, re-purposed architectural copper and lead-free enamels. All her findings and jewelry are handmade and designed by Elara in her Frankfort studio.

ACADIA
FROM THE FIBRE COMPANY
See our gorgeous selection of Acadia HERE.
Not sure what to knit with this beautiful yarn? We've got a sample of the Acadia Cowl pictured below knit with one skein (we featured this one during our most recent 12 Knits of Christmas,) a
little dress for Sasha knit with two skeins (18 month size), and we're planning our Scalene Shawl class around three skeins (two of the main, one in a contrasting color) of this yarn.
Still need more inspiration? Click HERE for some ideas on Ravelry!
* Due to an overwhelming response to last week's email, we are currently out of the Acadia Cowl pattern, but not to fear--we'll have more copies back in stock within the week.
