(Early) Seasons Greetings!

November and "fall back" in one weekend....it's getting real up in here, my friends.  Time to really hunker down and if nothing else, start your list.  By writing it down.
On paper.
(This is really just a note to myself, as somehow I'm still under the impression that I can knit a sweater for both Curt and Sasha, three pairs of socks, sew and embellish three stockings and concoct our official family Advent calendar, in addition to my shop obligations.
Riiiiiiiiight.)

And of course I couldn't resist.
October 31st, 2013: the official Wool & Honey mascot!

At Wool & Honey, we believe that the best way to celebrate the holidays is with a handcrafted gift.
Something special--a little slip of a silk scarf, a pair of fuzzy, wooly mitts, a hand knit ornament--that with a little time, a little money and a little foresight could become the most treasured gift you give all year.

Every weekend between now and December 25th, you'll receive an email revealing a special pattern we're featuring at the shop--one that can easily be tackled within the course of a week.  (With a little effort, of course--these projects don't knit themselves!)  These patterns are super simple, even for beginner knitters.  We make it that way because we realize that in addition to your knitting, there's a good chance you've got a few other things to tend to between now and the holidays.  (Ahem!)  Knitting should be fun, not work.  And certainly not stressful.  Most of these projects are One-Skein Wonders--a pretty fantastic way to see light at the end of the knitting tunnel, even when you're elbow-deep in cookie dough.  With 12 full weeks ahead of us, if you pace yourself and try your best to keep up, you'll have a nice collection of gifts come December 25th.

Good luck, friends!

This year, just like last year, there are several ways to knit for everyone on your list.  The Twelve Knits are being sold as kits--kits complete with yarn, pattern and any other accoutrements, with the option of adding needles if you need them.  You can purchase one for delivery right to your doorstep or you can reserve one for pick-up at the shop.
And for those of you who've got a mountain of stash to knit through, we're offering a pattern-only option as well.  Within 36 hours of your purchase, your pattern will be e-mailed to you in an easy-to-read PDF format that you can save and print as many times as you'd like.
This year, we've added plenty of other kits (and yarn, patterns, needles and gifts, too!) to our website,

 www.woolandhoney.com.

Take a peek around while you're shopping--there's a pretty good chance you'll find something you can't live without!

Orders over $75 always ship FREE.

Week Five: Penelope, the Empathetic Monster

Obviously you know we've been on a baby kick for a long time here at Wool & Honey.  Not just because of our little Sasha, but because so many of you are new mamas, new grandmas and new aunties for the first time yourselves.  Now while I can't resist casting on a sweater on occasion, I've discovered that my new go-to knit for baby shower gifts is this sweet, odd little Penelope.

As a mother myself, I cherish all of the hand knit baby sweaters I've been given (most of them by Cindy and Liz!), but I wish my little weed didn't grow out of them so darn quickly.  Penelope is the antidote to sweaters that take too long to make.  Picture your little one with a hand knit that'll entertain them first as a baby, then as a toddler...and for years beyond!
