Hello, friends! 

What a gorgeous summer we are having in Northern Michigan.  We've had a streak of hot, sunny days that make for perfect trips to the beach, long touristy drives and gorgeous sunsets from anywhere in Leelanau.  (We could use a little rain, actually, but that's the farmer's wife in me talking.)  My little sunshine is, of course, the brightest part of my life.  At almost three months old, Sasha is smiling and chattering--a little social butterfly.  And the shop is shinier than ever, due in huge part to the vibrant energy Liz brings to everything she touches.  From some of the new classics (Malabrigo Worsted) to straight up knitting luxury (Road to China Light, the shop is jam-packed full of gorgeous yarn, fresh patterns and
convenient kits.  And for those of who who can't travel to our little corner of Paradise?  The website is always open and updated daily--we're happy to bring the Land of Delight to you.  (Don't forget--shipping is ALWAYS free on orders over $75.) 
 
So what does summer in Northern Michigan have to do with Christmas, you ask? Well, truth be told, while cold and snow seem so far away (and they are!), for people who make things, there's no such thing as "too early" when it comes to preparing for the holidays.   
 
Join us this Saturday from 9 to 5 while we help you finish up old projects, inspire you to start new ones and rev up your creative engines for the season of knitting ahead.  Sign up for our Finishing Techniques class from 10 a.m. to 12 noon--you'll be so glad you learned these invaluable techniques.  They really are 'game changers', transforming your knitting from "Homemade" to "Handcrafted" in a few simple steps.  We'll beat the heat with full-blast AC, munch on some classic Christmas cookies (Liz is going to grab the Spritz cookie press from our mom's attic) and I'll be bringing in Santa's favorite little elf....it's never too early to pass on the craft!

Christmas in July 
beginning Saturday, July 27th 

Christmas in July kicks off on July 27th (that's this Saturday!), with Santa's Workshop from 9 am to 5 pm.  Bring in that project you've been stuck on (finishing techniques, anyone?) and we'll help you get it finished and checked off your list.  Sign up for our Finishing Techniques class from 10 am to 12 noon, or come visit us throughout the day as we will encourage you to finish something that's been lingering on the needles waaaaay too long.  (So you can start a new project, of course!)    

We'll be in the holiday spirit for the remainder of the summer with several new holiday-themed kits, quick-to-knit gifts and plenty of stocking stuffers (for knitters and non!) to jump-start the season of giving.  It's never too early to start.  Think of Christmas in July as a precursor to Wool & Honey's famous 12 Knits of Christmas....October 1st is right around the corner!
