Greetings, friends!
Another year is upon us--this weekend is my 7th anniversary as a LYS shop owner and also marks the anniversary of our 13th year in business. Talk about lucky number 13! This year has been a whirlwind of change, full of events that one year ago, I would never have forecasted. I feel so grateful that, rather than selling Wool & Honey, we took an entirely new path-bringing Liz to the business has allowed both of us to pursue this creative life and to share a love of fiber with you and each other. And the biggest surprise of all? Welcoming our little Sasha, who is more delightful than I ever could have imagined.

We hope you'll join us in our annual Memorial Day Weekend celebration, which takes place on Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. We'll be pulling out all the stops, celebrating with a weekend-long trunk show (read more below), two guests of honor (Liz Neddo and
Miss Sasha) and a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to Wool & Honey. All weekend long, the shop will be full of amazing talent from Michigan artists--hand-dyed yarn and spinning fibers from Yarn Hollow and handcrafted paper jewelry and art by Quilling Maven, as well as demonstrations on how to use JUL Designs Closures to enhance your knitwear. For those of you who've been away from the shop this winter, we hope you'll take the opportunity to stop by the shop to introduce yourself to Liz and to see some of the fun new changes she's brought to Wool & Honey. And who doesn't love a newborn baby? Our little girl is excited to meet all of you and to thank you in person for all of the sweet cards and heartfelt gifts.
For every $10 purchase you make this weekend, we'll be adding your name into a drawing for a $100 gift certificate--
the more you spend, the better your chances of winning! Whether you plan to use your gift certificate toward a class, a new summer project or a gift for a friend, $100 goes a long way--good luck!
Hoping your Memorial Day weekend includes some of your favorite summer activities--most of all, some warm weather knitting!

Yarn Hollow began in 2005, the result of a kitchen sink epiphany. Rita Petteys began dyeing yarn in her garage in Grandville, MI and selling it at the Fulton Street Farmer's Market. These yarns come in an array of exquisite multi-colored and semi-solid color ways in a full range or weights. She uses a collection of fibers including merino, polworth, cashmere, bamboo, seacell, silk, blue faced leicester, tussah silk, mohair, baby alpaca and cotton. In both yarn and spinning fiber there are superwash options! Yarn Hollow is now throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southern United States and Canada. Amazing colors for any one that knits, crochets or spins!

Quilling Maven comes to us from Williamston Michigan. Barb Zaremski loves making earrings, pendants and art out of paper. The art of quilling is centuries old - rolling and shaping specialty paper together to create ornamental designs. And similar to us fiber fans - it's creating something beautiful from nothing! Quilling was a hobby of hers and now she's putting these stunning creations out in the world to us to enjoy! These gorgeous accessories are perfect for you or a truly unique gift for someone special. |
