President's Corner
Another year has come and gone and as we look back on 2012 it was an exciting time for Mister Kleen as we made several enhancements to our team and business systems. It was also a year filled with continued economic challenges and uncertainty for many. Our struggling economy has challenged all of us in one way or another and it requires us to be resourceful and creative. This is something we at Mister Kleen have been working closely with our clients on, from designing cleaning and maintenance programs that meet specific budgets to providing professional support in security and in green initiatives.
In every down market, we look for opportunities to grow and improve our company and this time around is no different. One opportunity we found was some great hiring opportunities and we have enhanced our team by adding to our existing team. Another is upgrading our internal infrastructure by enhancing our software programs and tools, computers, etc. These investments will ensure we are prepared for our continued growth as the markets continue to rebound.
As we enter a new year, I want to personally thank all of our outstanding employees and clients for your continued support. Mister Kleen celebrates our 37th year in business this year and without you, we would not have been afforded the level of success we have accomplished together. We appreciate you and will strive to never take you for granted.

The Season of Giving
In keeping with the true meaning of what the Holiday Season is all about, the Mister Kleen team adopted a local family from our community for the holidays. Our team feels passionate about reaching out and helping those that aren't as fortunate as we are. There is nothing more humbling and rewarding then helping those who need it. The families in our area are so grateful to receive anything they can. That is why we felt it would be an honor to personally "adopt a family" or show support in some way.

The Mister Kleen Administrative and Management team pooled together their resources with very generous donations and were able to purchase gifts for each child and provide the family with gift cards to a local grocery store.
Once all the items were purchased the team effort continued with a fun "wrapping session". This time of year makes our team realize that we should never take things for granted. Helping others is what life is all about.

The Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) is dedicated to defining the standard of professionalism for facility service providers. BSCAI provides educational programs and networking opportunities to enhance the knowledge and expertise as well as providing valuable new and innovative products and services to the industry. This three day conference is held annually with numerous roundtable discussions, seminars, training demonstrations, exhibit booths and plenty of networking with industry associates.

Job Fair Time
Mister Kleen attended and exhibited at the November 16th Security Clearance Job Fair in Springfield, VA sponsored by Corporate Gray Job Fairs.
This job fair was held exclusively for individuals who are seeking cleared positions in the DC Metro area. The job fair was a unique experience and great opportunity to meet face-to-face with prospective employees and employers who are seeking cleared candidates.

Special Services Update 
Over the past six months the Special Services Department has been focusing a great deal on training to include stone floor care, carpet cleaning and water restoration. New team members are developing their skills and learning new techniques from our existing staff. The department has attended various trainings to stay up on new technology to better serve you - our clients.

It is winter time and we all need to be prepared if our pipes burst and there is water damage. Some suggestions and helpful tips for flood prevention:
- Are you going out of town? If so, be sure to turn off your main water source (if possible).
- Keep your heat on at all times to prevent pipes from freezing.
- Know what your insurance covers and what the procedures are for filing a claim. Who do you call? Keep the phone numbers and policy numbers handy.
- If you experience a flood, make sure you file your claim right away. Photograph as much as you can. This includes personal belongings, furniture, carpets and walls, etc.
Remember, if the unfortunate does occur, call your insurance company first. This will allow you to call in a professional who will take the necessary steps to make your home safe again for you and your family.

It's that time of year again for Mister Kleen to hold our Building Excellence Competition. This competition is based on monthly site evaluation scores in which our cleaning is critiqued at the highest level. Our staff is always motivated to ensure they have the cleanest buildings-they take pride in this. The Building Excellence Competition is based on their evaluation scores for cleanliness. The competition builds morale and team work. Not only does the Mister Kleen team take pride in receiving these awards, but our clients do too! The winning team received an on-site party, a Certificate and the Supervisor receives a check for $50.00.
The winner of our fall 2012 Building Excellence Competition is Spring Mall located in Springfield, Virginia. This commercial facility is comprised of approximately 112,000 square feet and is managed by McCaffery Interests.
Congratulations go to Mister Kleen's Area Manager Yolanda Rathbone, Supervisor Levi Chavez and their team for all their hard work and outstanding service and dedication.
