imailconnect_white

We are pleased to announce that iMailConnect.com verison 7.0.0 has been released and is now available to all customers who use our interactive customer service portal.  While we have made a number of improvements behind the scenes, we have also included a number of customer-focused enhancements in this release.

With the release of 7.0.0, customers will be able to accomplish the following:

  • Share the same contact person thereby allow them to create placards across multiple sites
  • Send a message to Lake Michigan Mailers when their collection volume is higher than normal
  • Create a placard for Document Scanning solutions (for our Document Scanning customers) that includes a description of contents, number of containers, and any notes. The generated placard is serialized and created for each container, as well as, two copies of the "Chain of Custody" form.
  • Customers who are required to have an PAF-MPE on file, will be informed when their current PAF-MPE is about to expire (within 30 days) as they log in. They will be allowed to fill out a form that they can print and sign then fax, scan and email, or mail to Lake Michigan Mailers.
Additional improvements to iMailConnect.com will be released in the weeks and month ahead.  Thanks to all of have provided feedback and suggestions for improvements.

Free Tickets to See Alton Brown Live!

"Alton Brown Live: Eat Your Science," the follow-up to the smash "Edible Inevitable" tour, comes to Miller Auditorium on Tuesday, May 5, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Lake Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series.

Fans can expect more comedy, talk show antics, multimedia presentations and music (yes, he sings), but Brown is adding a slew of fresh ingredients including new puppets, songs, bigger and potentially more dangerous experiments and what every cook needs in his kitchen - fire!  Brown has a knack for mixing together a perfect base of science, music and food into two hours of pure entertainment. Critics and fans rave about the interactive fun when Brown invites an audience member on stage to serve as his assistant. This year's show has even more protective ponchos for the first few rows when things get even messier.

We have a limited number of tickets to give away for this great show.  If you would like your chance to win a pair of tickets, please complete our entry form.

New Data Capture and Document Management Solution Available

We are excited to announce that we have developed a new suite of document scanning and data capture solutions that will provide significant benefit to any organization that must process forms or extract data from hard copy reports or applications.

We have spent the last year enhancing both the size and scope of our document scanning capabilities.  As a result of these investments, we have moved well beyond simply scanning and electronically archiving documents.  Our new technology now provides us with the ability to craft document scanning AND data capture capabilities to meet the unique requirements of our customers.  Imagine scanning a document and automatically searching for unique fields on the document, then capturing the data necessary to handle to document electronically.  It is a real game changer!

If you would like to learn more about how this remarkable new solution can benefit your organization, please contact David Rhoa, at 800-653-3121 Ext. 220 or via email.

USPS to Implement Address Validation
Postal Service Logo

Starting January 2016, the USPS is implementing new shipping requirements that will affect 90% of all packages delivered annually. All parcel shippers will now be required to ensure the accuracy of delivery addresses through Delivery Point Validation.

On top of the new Delivery Point Validation, the USPS is also implementing a price increase and a non-compliance fee. Beginning January 17, 2016, there will be a 9.5% price increase on shipping rates. The increase however does not impact letters, First-Class flat and cards. There will be a $0.20 non-compliance fee implemented to each parcel address that does not verify.

As Lake Michigan Mailers has made substantial investments in its parcel processing equipment and software, customers utilizing Premier PostŪ or Premier PostŪ Shipping are already compliant with the new requirements.

If you would like more information about Premier PostŪ or Premier PostŪ Shipping, please contact Dave Holysz at 800-653-3121 Ext. 226 or via email.

U.S., Cuba to Re-establish Direct Mail Service

After 52 years of suspended direct postal service, both the U.S. and Cuba have announced the resumption of limited mail service directly between the two countries. Since 1963, letters and packages have been routed through third countries. This new agreement calls for a pilot program to provide mail flights between the United States and Cuba. The details for the complete program remain unconfirmed. The USPS released a statement saying it is "pleased to participate in the historic direct transportation of mail service to Cuba beginning this month. The mail-related details are still being finalized." This agreement has been a step towards normalizing U.S.-Cuban relations.

Information regarding required documentation and customs forms will be presented as it becomes available.
