Email Marketing
Tips

Here are this month's tips for using email marketing in an effective manner.
CREATING AN EFFECTIVE LIST:
Creating an effective email marketing campaign is not nearly as mysterious as it may first appear. As with any effective marketing tool, email marketing requires two basic elements; an engaging message, and the right audience (that's your email address list). Creating an effective list is little bit like planting a seed for an oak tree; the growth process may seem slow but the return on your investment can pay big dividends.
Here are some basic guidelines to consider:
1) Create your list from your existing customers. These are the folks that are already familiar with your organization. A WORD OF CAUTION: Avoid purchasing commercially available email address lists. They are notoriously poor in quality. Unlike U.S. Mail address lists, email lists are not certified as accurate by any third party agency. Given that the average American has three email addresses (home, work, and "junk"), you really have no way of knowing what email you are purchasing.
2) Create ways for prospects and new customers to easily join your email list. You can encourage this by including a link on your organization's website, creating a QR code for your customer to scan at your checkout counter, or encourage them to join by texting.
Let's try it!
Text the word BARCODEMAIL to 22828 (normal texting rates may apply) and watch what happens.
3) Cultivate your email address records based on their click-through and reading activity. Every read of an article and every click of a link tells you something about your customer. Keep track of that data and your email marketing address list will become exponentially more valuable to your organization.
SPEAK WITH IMAGES, NOT JUST WORDS:
Email marketing is a visual medium. Use engaging graphics, and videos to engage your readers. Take care not to use images in an excessive manner. A single picture may be worth a thousand words but too many pictures is a jumbled mess.
If, after reading this, you are still stumped or would like to learn more, please contact David Rhoa at 800-653-3121 Ext. 220 or via email. David has been successfully helping customers use email marketing to engage and inform their customers and prospects for more than a decade.

Requests Now Being Accepted for SOC II Compliance Document

In today's business environment, outsourcing is an essential tool for improving efficiency and reducing costs. However, outsourcing is only as valuable as the service provider's control methods set in place to protect the client's information.
Lake Michigan Mailers offers the largest integrated network of document management, mail assembly, mail processing, messaging, and distribution services in Northern Indiana and Western Michigan, and we understand the importance of safeguarding data and documents. We adhere to only the highest standards for data security and control.
Our internal processes and controls relevant to security, availability, processing integrity, and confidentiality are examined annually by the independent service auditors of Scarpone & Co., P.C., Certified Public Accountants and Consultants and found to meet or exceed the SOC 2 (formally SAS 70) standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for Service Organizations.
Our annual report entitled "Facility and Document Security and Related Policies" will be ready for distribution by the end of June. Once again, we provide this document in electronic format only. Customers wishing to request a copy must have a current and valid nondisclosure agreement with Lake Michigan Mailers on file.
To request a copy, please click here and complete the registration form. If necessary, we will forward a signed NDA for your counter signature.

A Story Worth Your Time
Dear Delivery Point Readers:
Lake Michigan Mailers is proud to have Bronson Health Foundation as one of our 2015 Charity Partners. Once again, we will proudly serve as the Volunteer Sponsor for the Bronson Children's Hospital Walk & Run.
I would like to share with you a story that illustrates the incredible work being done every day at Bronson Children's Hospital and why they are deserving of your financial support.
Warmly,
David C. Rhoa
President
Lake Michigan Mailers, Inc.
The following is a true story.
Aly Schuck remembers the day her daughter's childhood changed course. Four-year-old Nattaly had a suspicious lump in her neck that prompted doctors at Bronson Battle Creek to immediately send her to Bronson Children's Hospital in Kalamazoo. Soon, the family received the life-altering news. Nattaly had cancer.
For more than a year, Nattaly's new routine included hospital stays and trips to the clinic. But, the scary journey was made easier thanks to the pediatric specialists, nurses and child life team members who provided physical and emotional comfort along the way. "They were so loving and caring and passionate. They were not just doing their jobs," says Aly. "They wanted to be there, and Nattaly knew that." In fact, instead of having anxiety and stress, Nattaly started looking forward to her visits. She earned a long string of beads from the hospital's Journey Beads Program. Each bead represents a milestone in her cancer treatment. The colorful collection has become a keepsake that tells her story of strength, courage and hope.
Today, Nattaly is no longer undergoing chemotherapy, but she still has frequent check-ups. The people and programs that touched her journey were made possible through the Children's Hospital Fund of the Bronson Health Foundation. In fact, the specialized services Nattaly received have inspired her family members to become foundation donors and champions. They are now helping ensure other children will have the support they need as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of treatment.
Nattaly and her family will be participating at the Bronson Children's Hospital Walk & Run on Sunday, September 27. We hope to see you all there to support children in our community like Nattaly!

Holiday Registration Required for Daily Mail Service Customers

In January 2013 we introduce iMailConnect.com as our secure, online customer service portal. Although iMailConnect.com provides a number of benefits to our Daily Mail Service customers, a primary feature allows our customers to register in advance as to their specific service requirements on recognized holidays.
Having this information in advance allows us to efficiently adjust Daily Mail Service collection times for those customers who will remain open and require service. Without this data we are compelled to contact customers by phone or email to ascertain the customer's service requirements. This is daunting and expensive task given the nearly 800 customers we service each day.
Holiday registration has been a feature of iMailConnect.com for more than 18 months. We will now require that all Daily Mail Service customers register their holiday service requirements for each of the "holidays", as specified below, through iMailConnect.com by the close of business four (4) days prior to the identified holiday. Failure to properly register through iMailConnect.com will result in a non-refundable $30 service fee to cover our increased costs for manual route adjustments.
Holiday service requirements may be registered up to one year in advance. If the status changes, at any time, it can be adjusted to reflect the new service requirement.
Please take a few minutes and update your holiday status to avoid additional costs or service interruptions.
