Postal Service Price Change on May 31, 2015

Postal Service Logo

After longer than normal delays, the United States Postal Service will increase prices for all "Mailing Services" effective May 31, 2015.

The new prices, having been approved by the Postal Regulatory Commission, will be imposed on all First-Class postage prices as well as Standard Class, Periodicals, Parcels, and Certified Mail.

As part of our continuing commitment to provide our customers with the most current Postal Service and industry information available, we will post postage rate wall charts for self-metering customers on iMailConnect.com under the "Information" tab on May 27th.  Wall Charts will only be available on iMailConnect.com and will NOT be presented to customers in hard copy form.

Self-metering customers are reminded NOT to use the new postage prices until June 1, 2015.

Self-metering customers will receive reminders about the Postal Service price change in the days leading up to and including June 1, 2015 via the Service Alert Notification System (SANS).

Tips for Getting Started with Email Marketing

We are pleased to have had so many customers take advantage of our FREE three-month email marketing trial.  We are confident you will find it to be a cost-effective tool in communicating with your prospects and current customers.

A number of customers new to email marketing are curious as how best to start a campaign.  The good news is there are no hard and fast rules about creating interesting content for your email marketing.  Here are three tips to help get you going.

  • TELL YOUR STORY: What makes your organization unique?  A service?  A product? An employee?  Imagine you were speaking with someone who knew nothing about your organization; what would you want to tell them?  It should be simple and free of a lot of technical jargon.
  • EXPAND ON A POST OR TWEET:  Are you posting to Facebook or Twitter?  If so, consider expanding on one or more posts.  Email marketing is constrained by space or character count.  What more would you like your customers and prospect to know that you could not say in a post or a tweet?
  • GIVE YOUR NEWS LETTER A NAME:  If you are creating a newsletter give it a name.  We call our newsletter Delivery Point - we are currently in our 19th year of publication and have nearly 7,000 subscribers.  Giving your newsletter a name will help it build brand identity for your organization and a familiar structure for your readers.  Be certain to archive your newsletters for future reference.
If, after reading this, you are still stumped, please contact David Rhoa at 800-653-3121 Ext. 220 or via email.  David has been successfully helping customers us email marketing to engage and inform their customers and prospects from more than a decade.

Is Mail Delivery Meeting Your Expectations?

Would you say that the timeliness of mail delivery is meeting your expectations?  We have created a brief survey to learn more about your experience with the timeliness of First-Class Mail delivery.

Everyone who completes our survey will be entered into a drawing to win a $100.00 Visa gift card.

The results of this survey will be shared with the Postal Service as part of our continuing efforts to communicate both service success and service failures with the USPS.  NONE of your personal information will be shared with the Postal Service.

Surveys must be completed by noon on May 29th.  Thank you for your feed back.

Reminder to Self-Metering Customers: Print a new placard every day.

Self-metering customers are kindly reminded to log into iMailConnect.com and print a Daily Mail Placard for each requested service every day.

We know this may seem like a hassle, but we wouldn't ask if it were not important.

Having a properly completed placard ensures:

  • That all mail for a specific customer is properly accounted for and tracked from the point of collection until delivery to the Postal Service.
  • That all service fees are properly charged to the correct customer.
  • The all mail receives the correct service level
  • That mail with errors is promptly returned to the appropriate mail owner.

Mail that is presented without an accurate, properly dated Daily Mail Service placard will be set aside from normal handling until all mail with properly presented Daily Mail Service placards is processed.  This may result in a processing delay of such mail.

If it helps, think of the Daily Mail Placard as a "deposit slip" for your mail and parcels.  You would never drop your money on the counter at your local bank without a deposit slip and expect your money to get into the right account.

Drowning in a Sea of Returned Mail?

Let Us Throw You a Line

Life Ring

If your organization is receiving mail returned with a yellow sticker attached it means your address database is out of date.  We can help reduce the volume of mail that is returned to you.  We have a variety of products that are specifically designed to update your address database either before or after mailing.  All of our solutions are priced at a fraction of what you are now paying to handle returned mail.

We are excited to announce that we have a new solution for self-metering Daily Mail Service customers that will provide an easy-to-read electronic file detailing the recipient's name, as well as, the old and new address.  Once you sign up for the service you will be able to download your data file directly from iMailConnect.com.

If you would like more information on our Move Update solutions, please contact our Customer Service Group at 800-653-3121 Ext. 202 or via email.
