My new sweet Southern historical romance novel, WAIT FOR ME is now available in paperback and Kindle eBook editions at Amazon. Please see an endorsement for the book below.

"Jo Huddleston's characters come to life as does this sweet and wonderful mid-century love story about two young people who come from different spectrums of society....This author writes with colorful detail, setting us body and soul into the story. This is the first in a series titled 'West Virginia Mountains.' I already look forward to the subsequent installments.

In Firefly Valley

by Amanda Cabot

Amanda Cabot is the bestselling author of more than thirty novels including the Texas Dreams trilogy, the Westward Winds series, and Christmas Roses. A former director of Information Technology, she has written everything from technical books and articles for IT professionals to mysteries for teenagers and romances for all ages. Amanda is delighted to now be a full-time writer of Christian romances, living happily ever after with her husband in Wyoming.

Welcome, Amanda. If you could have dinner with one person from today or history (except Jesus) who would it be?

Oh, what a hard question to answer! There are so many fascinating people I'd like to meet, but if I could only choose one, it would be Abraham Lincoln. I'd love to talk to him about the challenges he faced as President during the Civil War and how he managed to keep his sense of humor while he led the country through one of its most turbulent eras.

Where is your favorite vacation spot? Why?

That's an easy question. My favorite place on earth is Yellowstone National Park. I fell in love with the sagebrush prairies, the thermal features and the wildlife on my first visit and never wanted to leave. The truth is, Yellowstone is part of the reason my husband and I moved to Wyoming. It may be on the other side of the state, but we're much closer now than we were when we lived on the East Coast.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

Joshua 1:9. "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." KJV

What do you enjoy most about writing?

Second drafts. Perhaps I'm an editor at heart, but once I have the first draft completed, turning that ugly manuscript that I refer to as the skeleton into a flesh and blood, living thing is pure joy.

What can your readers expect from you next?

I've just finished the final edits for On Lone Star Trail, the third of the Texas Crossroads books. Like the first two, it takes place at Rainbow's End and features characters who are at crossroads in their lives. Famous pianist Gillian Hodge's career is destroyed when her hand is crushed in a motorcycle accident, so if there's one thing she never wants to see again, it's a man on a motorcycle. You can guess what happens. She's on her way to Rainbow's End when a sudden thunderstorm causes a motorcycle to hydroplane and crash in front of her. On Lone Star Trail will be available in February 2016.

Please tell us a little about your novel, In Firefly Valley.

She's lost her dream job--but has she found the man of her dreams?

Devastated by a downsizing, Marisa St. George has no choice but to return to the small Texas town where she grew up. Though it means a giant step backward, she accepts a position as business manager at the struggling Rainbow's End resort. The only silver lining: Blake Kendall, a new guest who might make her believe in love at first sight. But will Marisa's dreams of happily-ever-after be turned upside down when she discovers Blake's real identity?

This warm and witty story of dreams deferred and mistaken identity will have you believing in second chances.

What takeaway do you hope for readers after reading In Firefly Valley?

My prayer as I write is always that my books will touch readers' hearts and deepen their faith. In the case of In Firefly Valley, I hope they'll see how God can heal even the deepest of hurts if only we ask Him.

What Am I Reading?
What

I recently read Out of the Ashes  (The Chicago Fire Series, Book 1) by Sandi Rog. The setting of this historical romance moves from a small town in Colorado to Chicago. The story is about Amelia and Nathaniel who first meet as youngsters in Green Pines, Colorado, where he is a "street rat" and she gives him all the money she has to buy food but then loses her small purse. He remembers the kiss she blows him as she leaves and when wanting a wife, he searches for the girl who dropped her purse, which he has kept all these years. Without exception, all the characters are well developed and believable. Sandi Rog's descriptions of environment and clothing entwines the reader into this historical story. The book is a delightful read and held my interest from start to finish. A good read.
