The ICE Conference Committee is pleased to announce our theme for 2016, Welcome to the Future!  We are also excited to bring you three awesome keynote speakers:

Nearly free PD from ICE Chapters...



The DeICE Summer Mini-Conference will be held at Joliet West High School on Thursday, July 30, from 9 am-12:30 pm.  There's even a STEM workshop for children of attendees entering grades 1-6 (a small fee is required.)  Check out all the sessions and register today!
Co-sponsored by ICE Chip and ICE Cold, Taste of Technology 2015 will be a three-day PD event on August 3-4-5 at Old Quarry Middle School in Lemont. We are calling for anyone who would like to present.  You can submit your proposal at www.tinyurl.com/tot15presenters.  Each session will be 2.5 hours, so this gives you a little more time to dive deeper into your material.  Also, you will get a stipend for presenting.  If you have any questions please contact Mike McGowan at TeacherMike78@gmail.com.  We will be picking presenters soon, so get your session in now!

2015 ICE Scholarships



ICE Awards over $15,000 in Scholarships

 

Over seventy applications were submitted by ICE members seeking ICE Scholarships for 2015.  The eighteen ICE members listed below were selected to receive funding in three categories.  We congratulate all awardees and encourage all ICE members to pursue this great member benefit in the future. The ICE 2016 Scholarship applications will open on December 1, 2015. 

 

Category 1 - ICE Member pursuing an advanced degree or taking additional college courses for credit

 

Scholarships were awarded to Elizabeth Davis, William Fraser, Allison Honaker, Heather Johnson, Ellen Lawrence, Jerry Michel, Brett Thompson, Liz Williams, Bridget Wilmot, and Warren James Wolf.

 

Category 2 - ICE Member planning to attend professional development workshops and conferences

 

Scholarships were awarded to Katie Aquino, Kirstin Buican, Bridget Demetriou, Danyele Leonard, Kathryn Newton, and Michelle Thorne

 

Category 3 - Son or daughter of an ICE Member who is pursuing a degree in Education:

 

Scholarships were awarded to Ashton Doty, daughter of Janet K. Doty, and Rebecca Herman, daughter of Deanna Herman.

ICE Members Save at The K-12 Learning Space Symposium


The K-12 Learning Space Symposium is the first of its kind to be offered in the Midwest. This exciting two-day event will enable participants and school teams to explore the design of 21st Century learning spaces and how they support a variety of teaching and learning strategies, including personalized and brain-based learning. 

This two-day event will be on July 21-22 at Arrowhead High School in Heartland, WI near Milwaukee.
