Fun-filled free concerts return
Labor Day Weekend!
Ambrosia

From 1970s pop to the blues and "jazz-grass" to down-home country, there is something for just about every music lover on the Levitt Pavilion's free concert calendar for September. The Everything Energy Fall Concert Series runs Aug. 29 through Sept. 28. Most concerts are at 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Keeping with the Levitt tradition established on our official opening night in October 2008, Brave Combo kicks off the free fall music at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29. Celebrating its 35th year, the popular Denton mosh-pit polka band's fun vibe and Grammy-winning music gets the concert series off to a good start. Ambrosia, known for its pop chart toppers, How Much I Feel, You're the Only Woman, Holdin' On and Biggest Part of Me returns to the Levitt at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30. Opening weekend concludes at 8 p.m. Sunday. Aug. 31, with the return of another Levitt favorite, Americana duo (and coolest Texas music couple), Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis.

Other fall highlights at the Levitt include popular group Green River Ordinance Sept. 5, Grammy-winning New Orleans jazz with the Rebirth Brass Band Sept. 14, female blues artists Carolyn Wonderland on Sept. 19 and Ruthie Foster Sept. 26, Austin's free-wheeling folk tornado, Whiskey Shivers, Sept. 27; and Marcia Ball, the queen of Southern boogie, Sept. 28.

The Fall Concert Series includes Arlington Parks & Recreation's EcoFest, an all-day celebration of earth-friendly ideas, projects, services and organizations, Sept. 20. The annual festival includes two free concerts, world-beat tribal rock band Katsuk at 6:30 p.m. and the folk/pop sound of Seryn at 8 p.m.

The Levitt's free Fall Concert Series sponsors are Everything Energy, Levitt Pavilions, the City of Arlington, Downtown Arlington Management Corp., Arlington Parks & Recreation, the Arlington Chamber Foundation, the Arlington Cultural Tourism Council, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation, FW Weekly, Pianotex, the Sheraton Arlington, the Star-Telegram, the Texas Commission on the Arts, Texas Health/Arlington Memorial Hospital, Union Pacific, University of Texas Arlington, and WFAA.

A complete fall concert schedule as well as information about the artists is available at levittpavilionarlington.org. The website also includes directions, a parking map and helpful FAQs about the concerts and visiting the pavilion.
