Gifts to the District
The Board gratefully approved the following gifts to the District: $15,000 from the Osborn School PTO for books and furniture for classroom libraries, $6,000 from the David E. Retik & Christopher D. Mello Foundation for the Christopher D. Mello Scholarship, $12,495 from the Midland School PTO for a fence in front of the school, $11,530 from the parents of the Parsons Street Players to support the theatre program, and $2,500 from the Donald and Marilyn Keough Foundation for the Parson Street Players at Rye High School. Board President Laura Slack expressed appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the Board for those who have supported Rye students through gifts.

Policies and Regulations
Upon the recommendation of the Policy Committee, based on the Committee's work in consultation with faculty and staff, the Board adopted the following policies and regulations: Employee Acceptable Use of Technology Regulation, Elementary Schools Acceptable Use of Technology Regulation Grades K-5, Middle School/High School Acceptable Use of Technology Regulation Grades 6-12, and Vehicle Use Policy. Information was provided regarding the Student Attendance Policy, which will be further discussed for Board approval at a future meeting.

Establishment of Revised Tax Rate
The Board approved a resolution establishing the revised 2014-15 tax rate of $561.3391 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. The tax rate previously estimated earlier this year was $561.3280. The tax levy for the 2014-15 year is $69,989,093, which includes the tax warrant of $66,989,093 and the New York State STAR Reimbursement of $3,000,000.
