Step into summer with a workplace walking club!

Spotlight on HDR's new walking club

This past May, thirteen employees of HDR Corporation's Richmond Hill office took to the streets for a 30 minute lunch time walk to kick start the HDR Walking Club.

Walking is one of the best ways to enjoy fresh air, exercise and a good laugh and this event was no exception; our group shared some great stories while benefiting from the break from computer screens and deadlines.

Walking is free and can be done anywhere, anytime; the level of impact is low and strain on the feet and joints is minimal. Best of all? It gives an overall sense of well-being.

The HDR Walking Club meets every Thursday.

For a week in June workplaces across the
GTHA participated in Clean Air Commute, where commuters were encouraged to choose more sustainable modes of transportation rather than driving to work alone.

By logging one's commute, factoring in distance and the type of commute (carpool, transit, cycle, walk, telework, drive alone), he or she could see the amount of pollutants avoided based on their choice.
