Smart Commute Hero of the Month: Colin Campbell!

Nordic Pole walking is a great type of active transportation and fitness activity. Not only does walking with poles increase the health benefits of walking, but it's fun!

Colin Campbell (second from right), City of Markham Ward 5 Councillor, hosts a Nordic Pole walking group several times a month out of the Cornell Community Centre. Contact Councillor Campbell for more information.

Thanks for promoting healthy, active living in your community, Councillor!!!

There's a plan (bigmove.ca) to
dramatically improve transportation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area - one that could save you an average of 32 minutes on your daily commute. But it's going to take a lot of political will to make it happen. And political will comes from the people.

What is Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill?

Smart Commute is a not-for-profit sustainability program of the municipalities of Markham and Richmond Hill, York Region and Metrolinx. We help local employers and commuters, like you, explore different commute choices like carpooling, cycling and transit.

Our goal is to ease gridlock, improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions while making your commute less expensive

and more enjoyable.
