Top Smart Commute employers honoured at the 2012 Smart Commute Awards
 Congratulations to GENIVAR, Employer of the Year for Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill! GENIVAR has made great progress since partnering with Smart Commute. Within two years, the percentage of employees commuting sustainability increased from 11 to 20 per cent! Such success can be attributed to the effort of the workplace's two dedicated Smart Commute Ambassadors and support from management and their Sustainability Committee. The Town of Richmond Hill has also been recognized for its achievements in the program with an Honourable Mention Award. Toshiba was presented with a Special Recognition certificate for the workplace with the most carpoolers in the workplace size category of 200-500 employees. SENES Consultants received recognition as the workplace with the most cyclists in the category of less than 200 employees. What is Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill?
Smart Commute is a not-for-profit sustainability program of the municipalities of Markham and Richmond Hill, York Region and Metrolinx. We help local employers and commuters, like you, explore different commute choices like carpooling, cycling and transit.
Our goal is to ease gridlock, improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions while making your commute less expensive
and more enjoyable.
